We were so lucky today to spend an amazing day with Sam and Sylvie. Sam picked us up at our hotel and took us fishing and snorkeling to his private outrigger canoe. It was truly a one of a kind experience - we learnt so much about the Tahitian culture. Sam taught us to fish with a net and we (he!) caught 2 parrot fish which his wife Sylvie later cooked for lunch. My 11 year old son was over joyed by the experience and Sam and his team were so kind to him, assisting to make the sometimes physically challenging fishing very enjoyable. Sam then took us to his home where there were shower facilities to get changed for lunch. We watched Sylvie cook a traditional Tahitian meal and had time to learn to shred fresh coconuts. We dined with Sam and Sylvie while they told us stories about their island. After lunch Sam took us for a walk in his garden which is true example of environmental sustainability. This tour should not be missed if visiting Moorea - my son, who is a very seasoned traveler says it was the best tour he had ever been and on - thanks Sam and Sylvie!
