My husband, parents, dogs, in-laws and I had the most wonderful stay at the Kinbasket Lake Resort during the last week of July! We rented 2 cabins one being the larger one (Revelstoke cabin #6) and the smaller one right next door. 4 people and 2 large dogs stayed in the Revelstoke cabin and it was the perfect size. It included a queen size futon, coffee table, folding dining table and chairs and VERY well stocked kitchen area. (I brought just about everything one would take camping and it was all totally unnecessary) There is pots & pans, plates, bowls, cutlery, can opener, cook top, coffee pot, dish soap, burger flipper, towel and cloth, oven mitt, tongs, kettle... there may be more! Regardless you really don't need to bring anything! In the cabin there is also cold water electricity and a flush toliet (best rustic cabin ever). There is also a bedroom with queen size bed, reading lamps and a place to hang some clothes with hangers. Two twin beds upstairs (loft) with reading lamps as well. We brought our own bedding but they do offer a bedding package for a fee. The campground was very nice as well, tents to big buses were there during our stay. Shower house is clean and the best part is free showers!

The staff are fantastic. We were running low on TP and Sue was to the cabin in minutes to re load! Our in laws had a few rotten deck boards on the deck that were quite squishy, they let Rick know and he was there with tools and new boards within 5 minutes to replace the rotten ones! There have been some harsh reviews towards Rick and I really don't understand where they come from. Respect is met with respect. That is all.

Oh and another thing I have read about is the trains. Seriously they are not even remotely that bad, they seem to come through more frequent in the evening around dinner time and their is 2-3 during the night. Yes they blow their horns, yes the train tracks are close but there is so much quiet time and I mean quiet and peaceful who cares about a few silly trains. Just enjoy your vacation people!

Last but CERTAINLY not least- The lake. Its perfect. So nice and clean, and it really isn't that cold for a mountain lake. Very few boats on it, we only saw one motor boat. More kayaks then anything. My husband and I rented a canoe for our anniversary. Even came across a little water fall, I would recommend taking a boat out if you don't have your own. There is also plenty of hiking and exploring if you take the time to forge your own path, head across the bridge and up the logging road, there is plenty of things to be found. My husband and parents headed up that way and ended up in a old logging area and walked along the cut line, the views were phenomenal. We spent most days on a little beach across the bridge, its a little bit of a walk up the logging road then down another forestry type road maybe a 10 minute walk. It was a nice sandy spot. Sometimes we just swam off the boat launch area too.

Moral of this review is that its a great spot in the BC mountains and we can't wait to return and hopefully spend more than 4 nights there!

I dont know what people expect but its a campground not a 5 star hotel, there is all the service you need and one of the most beautifull lake in the roockies. I must admit you better reserve before going since all the site are not super private (just like 90% of all campsite around) but we loved our short stay there and we are planning to go back. Lake was also kind of warm so you can swim too.

We recently stayed in the Revelstoke Cabin after a suggestion from a friend... and we couldn't be happier with the outcome! Very kid friendly and affordable. The views were amazing and the owner, Rick showed us All-star caliber hospitality. We brought our boat and found it easy to launch and extremely fun for exploring around the magnificent, private beaches and landscape. The teal colored water were especially inviting as we found hours of enjoyment jumping from the docks and swimming around. We are already planning next years trip and highly recommend!!

Room tip: Cabins are worth every penny!

If your looking for beautiful views, a quiet location and great people make this your stop. Our children loved playing on the playground, canoeing to the waterfalls and chasing squirrels with new friends. The owner, Rick, greeted us warmly, giving us our pick of the best lake view spots. Through our stay he made sure we had everything we needed. I loved that my kids would run to the "store" with their lonnie and come back with a pile of freebies from him!! Would highly recommend stopping at this secluded gem. We will for sure return!

We stayed on a tent site at Kinbasket for one night on the weekend. The scenery over the lake is excellent. The sites and facilities are kept clean and attended to often. The tent sites can be a bit close together but we not issues with anyone around us. The only drawback of the area are the railroad tracks which run close to the site. There are several crossing so the train blows it horn when going by.

We arrived on a Saturday morning and after turning off the main highway we were met with various signs telling us how far to the campground. " it's not that far". We soon arrived and were welcomed by the owners. You have never met nicer people.... We set up camp overlooking the lake. Fantastic location. Faults...... Err none. OK so the trains do pass by, even through the night but they do at most campsites in BC. Would it stop us coming back? NO. Good points. TOO many to list. Great for quads. We headed out up the old log trails and saw black bears. Freaked the wife out but this is true outback country. The owners work really hard to deliver a good clean campsite and they do. If you want relaxation Great Lake views, fishing, and a relaxing vacation then this is the place for you.
Closing comment... We will be back. Thanks for a great long weekend.
