“A nearly perfect stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 February 2012

Our family of 4 spent a wonderful holiday week at Siboney. Our ideal Caribbean property has always had 10-20 rooms, been on the beach, and had a good restaurant where you don't have to worry about what you wear. Siboney met all of those criteria, and one we did not expect. Although the women that we spoke with when we booked were genuine and responsible, during our stay, their hospitality was even more warm and caring. Not only were they attentive to our touring and dining desires, but when our teenage daughter came down with a fever, they took a personal interest, called their personal doctor on Christmas and checked in with us after our visit. Tony Johnson created a sustainable property decades ago that has only improved with age. Take a stroll down the beach to the new restaurant - Pepperz & Lime as well as Siboney's own Coconut Grove.

My wife and I just returned from five nights at Siboney Beach, which for us was close to perfect. We've done a number of Caribbean holidays, but never had better value for money.

The hotel is fifteen minutes from the airport on a long clean beach with a number of condo communities and hotels (Sandals being the largest), bars and restaurants, and a few shops. The hotel is small, fewer than twenty rooms, and not luxurious but comfortable and charming. The other guests were generally British and older, with 1-2 young families and us (middle-aged New Yorkers). The beach and tropical garden were beautiful and well-kept. The staff was courteous and helpful.

The rooms (separate bedroom and living/dining room) were clean and the kitchen had everything we needed, including a few specific groceries we requested. Our room was on the top floor overlooking the tropical garden and each morning we took our coffee on the balcony and watched birds flit about in the trees. The balcony was shaded and comfortable at any time of day.

We really liked the food at the Coconut Grove restaurant, located onsite right on the beach. Wonderful fish, pumpkin soup, etc. There was a happy crowd at the bar every evening. The other bars on the beach were also nice. We took the hotel's advice and tried Cecilia's (absolutely wonderful) and Papa Zouk's (also liked), both a short taxi ride away.

While highly recommended for more laid back and casual travelers, a few things might bother more particular guests. There is no fitness center (we and others jogged along the salt pond behind the hotel). The wifi worked fine on our balcony but was spotty in the room. Also a screen popped loose in our bedroom one night, which we didn't notice until mosquitoes woke us. Still, for the money and our tastes, close to perfect.

My wife and I stayed at the Siboney Beach Club for 2 weeks in early February, 2012. This was our first family vacation with our 6 month old baby and it was an wonderful experience. The property was amazing. Our room overlooked a tranquil garden filled with palm trees, flowers, birds and the ocasional lizard. And the resort was just steps away from an intimate beach that had plenty of shade and sun. The convenience of having a kitchenette in the room and the Coconut Grove restaurant on the beach, provided lots of food options. The staff was accommodating with our needs and the cleaning staff made our stay even more pleasant on our daily encounters. We had such a delightful and relaxing experience at Siboney, that we decided to shoot a short movie starring our baby. The 3 minute film showcases the resorts rooms, gardens and beautiful beach. The staff are very cheerful and helpful. The suite we had (12) was great, the balcony is in the treetops and we had birds visiting all the time. We fell asleep to the sound of waves breaking on the shore. Tony, the owner, is a gem... a delight to talk to and a wealth of knowledge about the island. The beach is quiet and the restaurant is right there.

Stayed during Chritmas at Siboney and were very pleased. It has good rooms with seprat living and sleeping room and is located right on the beach with a good restaurant and a perfect bar, where also locals attending. And being in Antigua one of the nice things is to try different restaurants around the Island, why it is super there is absolutly no "all inclusive". The hotel helped us getting a very friendly and well oriented driver, so we also learned a lot about the Island and the living condition there.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Siboney Beach Club and truly believe that it is by far, the best place to stay in Dickenson's Bay. It has everything that you need for an outstanding selfcatering beach holiday: great beach front access, comfortable living areas, attention to detail on the landscaping, and extremely kind staff. We stayed in room number 8 which looked upon the garden. Each morning we had a menagerie of wildlife on our balcony (geckos, tree frogs, birds). We purchased our wine and food at the Epicurean grocery which is an outstanding grocery store. We had our taxi driver take us directly from the airport to the Epicurean and then on to Siboney and it was very efficient. There is also a First Choice grocery that is a couple of miles away.

I would like to mention the staff. They were so kind to us. When the Barbuda Express cancelled our trip to Barbuda at the last minute (where we were going to stay for five nights), we returned to the Siboney where they gave us the oceanfront suite #9 for the same price we had been paying for the garden view. They didn't have to do this, but it was greatly appreciated and took the sting out of losing one night in Barbuda.

I would also like to mention that the kitchenette has everything you need to cook and the rooms were spotless! The beach is the best as it's on the end of the beach (away from the day trippers). Don't miss dinner at Le Bistro!

Room Tip: Room #8 is great

Have just returned from yet another fantastic stay at the Siboney Beach Club.
If you don't like big brash resort hotels but prefer smaller, more individual and less glitzy accomodation in a fantastic location, this is for you. The setting is pure Caribbean. The hotel is right on the beach at the quieter end of Dickinson Bay. As you fall asleep at the end of another exhausting day of sunbathing, the sound of the waves lapping on the beach sends you peacefully to sleep.,Tony Johnson and his fine team always ensure that you have an enjoyable stay and because they have such extensive knowledge of the island, can always give you great tips for restaurants, other quiet beaches and generally get more out of your Antigua experience. Thoroughly recommended.
