“Lovely little beachfront hotel with great staff”
Reviewed 28 May 2012

My wife and I spent a wonderful week at Siboney. From the initial warm and genuine welcome from the owner, Tony, to the day we left, the staff were always friendly and helpful. we chose Siboney because we wanted to find somewhere that would take a bit more care over each of their guests. Siboney does just that. In particular, Kahori on reception, is a wealth of information and works very hard to find just the right place for dinner or just the right trip to suit her guests. Yes, the location is great, and we enjoyed relaxing on the quiet beach or breakfast at the Coconut Grove, but Antigua has plenty of beautiful locations. We would definitely go back to Siboney. One of my favourite hotels anywhere in the world.

Room Tip: I'm not sure that any of the rooms are very different from the others!

We were looking for a small hotel that wasn't all inclusive on Antigua...not such a small feat. Took our chances with the Siboney and it was perfect! Tony Johnson was the perfect host! His small hotel on Dickenson Bay was quaint, a great value for the money, great location and overall is true find. The staff was friendly and welcoming as were the folks in the attached Coconut Grove Restaurant. We did touristy things the first 3 days were we there and then just relaxed and enjoyed the sea and sun. We had a lovely room with a great balcony and living space. The kitchen area is small so really didn't use it except for the refrigerator. The shower pressure was the best I've experience in the Caribbean. The best part was the staff-friendly, helpful and gracious hosts. We felt a part of a family when we left...

Room Tip: We used room number 9 at the top of the stairs with no issues. I always like being up high...ok..3...

This is a slice of paradise sure to please. A small property with all the character and charm of the islands. If you're looking for one of those places with tons of people at the pool and feel of a pinball machine, this is NOT the place for you. Rooms are not fancy, but have all the comforts you need...sort of a shabby shiek but island style...very pleasant, welcoming and clean! The room is fairly spacious with separate bedroom, kitchenette and comfy living room with TV and phone service that actually worked!. We had room 6 on the 2nd floor with a peak of the ocean, and a double balconey overlooking the garden to the pool. When you first enter the room, the view through the louvered doors is a wonderful feel of the tropics and regardless of what room you're in, you're only steps to the beach. We loved this hotel and are so happy it was our choice. The staff and owner are amazing, friendly and very attentive, always going out of their way to meet whatever your need or request may be. Coconut Grove restaurant right on the property doesn't have a huge menu, but the food is very good and the rum punch even better :) You'll want to make this place your destination as long as you're not expecting the Ritz.

Room Tip: Room 5 has a view of the ocean right from your bed. We tried to upgrade when we arrived, but ocean v...

My boyfriend and I stayed at Siboney from 5/12 - 5/18. We highly recommend this hotel to both couples and families. The location couldn't be better - it's literally steps from the beach. We had a deluxe ocean view suite and we could hear the waves crashing on the shore. The suite was nice and clean. They provided full sized shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner. The beach is beautiful and I think it's one of the best we saw on the island. If you walk down the beach a little ways to where Sandals is, you can rent jet skis or other water sports stuff. The staff at Siboney was very friendly and helpful. They made restaurant reservations for us, called taxis, gave us extra sunscreen, and mailed our postcards. There is a nice restaurant right on the property that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We set up a house account there and closed it out at the end of the week. There are other good places to eat as well, both in walking distance and a short taxi drive away. Down the beach towards Sandals there is a place called Peppers and Limes that was really good. We also took a taxi to Le Bistro (French) and La Bussola (Italian), both of which we highly recommend for a romantic dinner. There is also a small grocery store close to Siboney (five minute walk) where you can purchase basic food and drug store items. As far as activities on the island, we recommend Eli's Eco Tour, ziplining, and going to Shirley Heights for the party every Sunday evening.

There were only a couple drawbacks to Siboney that kept me from giving the highest rating. The mosquitos are difficult to keep out of the room since there are slats on the windows and patio doors where they can sneak through. My boyfriend gotten bitten a lot. I recommend keeping your patio doors closed at night and closing the slats on the windows. Also, there is only air conditioning in the bedroom so it can feel pretty sticky in the other rooms. Lastly, there was some confusion when we arrived on 5/12. Our flight arrived late in the evening and they told us that even though the front office would be closed, security would be able to let us in our room. The security guard on duty didn't have knowledge of us coming and he had to call the owner of the property to come and let us in. It only took a few minutes but I had to wonder what would have happened if the owner hadn't been up in his room at the time.

We stayed at Siboney in March 2012, staying 3 nights either side of a sailing holiday in the BVI. I simply cannot fault this hotel. We were with our three and a half year old son, and had a ground floor room, opening straight out onto the beautiful gardens. The rooms are great, and the separate living area and galley kitchen a real bonus. Our son loved the swimming pool and the beach, and keeps asking when we can go back! We ate in the Coconut Grove most days, either for breakfast, lunch or dinner and the food was excellent. The staff at both the hotel and restaurant were really friendly and made us feel very welcome. All in all a very special place and I would have no hesitation in recommending a stay here.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms opening out onto the gardens are best with small children. Room 5 was the nicest...

This small hotel is the PERFECT place to stay with a small family! My husband, I and our baby recently stayed here (April 2012) and had an amazing time. The owner is on site and very friendly and helpful with anything you may need. The staff and cleaning ladies are all so amazing. On our last day one of our cleaning ladies made my husband homemade antiguan food! She was a doll! It was very quiet and peaceful. There was air conditioning in the bedroom only so we spent our evenings in there. We had a nice living room area with a fan and cable tv. We used our kitchen a lot with the baby, which I as a mother found very useful. They cleaned our room everyday and sometimes even placed a fresh flower on our sink. We counted we were 30 steps from the most AMAZING beach in the world! They have a lovely pool which is surrounded by lush gardens. My husband and I enjoyed the hammock. For the price and location you just can't beat this place. Trust me you won't be disappointed!!! We will definitely be back!!!!

Room Tip: We enjoyed our room on the bottom floor because of the baby. ;O)

Wow! We've just got back from staying at these fabulous apartments and we just want to get back on the plane and go back. Such a beautiful setting, the hotel is idyllic, lovely and quiet with a fabulous restaurant 'Coconut Grove' next door on the beach for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our apartment was a lovely big size with a balcony overlooking the stunning lush green gardens. The whole place is maintained to an excellent high standard. Although the apartment furniture is not particularly modern it meets all your needs and the bathroom looked brand new. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone and I would DEFINATELY go back and stay there. What really made it special for us though was the staff, so super friendly and helpful.

We attended a wedding at the Sandals next door and we couldn't wait to get away from the crowds and Butlins style activities (although admittedly some were fun) to get back to our chilled out boutique style hotel - don't hesitate on booking, do it now.
