“Fantastic Divi golf”
Reviewed 28 February 2012

A bit late in reviewing but had a great time with a party of 6,its well worth upgrading to the golf village ,you can use all facilities and restaurants at the other Divi hotels on the beach we booked with Hayes and Jarvis and got a free upgrade from a studio to a 1 bed apartment, the 1 beds are huge with 2 bathrooms a fully equipped kitchen and a washer dryer, the golf club restaurant is excellent and all spirits are premium brands free golf as well ,the staff are all fantastic, only complaint we had was the sunbeds around the pool are awful cheap and nasty ,after an hour you are aching and sore they are so uncomfortable ,we spent all our daytime at the beach hotels which had huge steamer sunbeds and soft cushions ,I found it strange that the most expensive part of the resort had the type of sunbeds you could buy at poundland, the beach is stunning and very cleangood entertainment at night apart from the Jazz group [ok if you like that sort of thing] not my cup of ta though ,everywhere we ate the food was first class but golf clubhouse was by far the best,Windows of Aruba upstairs is worth every penny of the $30 fee food is Michelin star quality and service to match,

Room Tip: all rooms are good as there are buggy,s galore to take you anywhere as this is a large resort ,you r...

stayed again at the divi village beach and golf resort in 1 bedroom unit for 2 weeks early jan 2012. Booked thru RCI, first unit we stayed in was ground level in first building and our room was very musty and moldy smelling we knew they had had a water leak in this building on upper floors earlier in fall.although they had obviously painted the smell was unbearable. Now this is not the normal carribean humid smell of a closed up room this was to the point we were concerned for our health we returned to the front desk to ask for relocation and although we did end up having to stay 1 night and wait for relocation they did put us in a new building no problem and room was terrific newly renovated and no smell. Having been to this island befor e we know all about aruba a time! so if you are pleasant and have some patience they will do all they can to help you out. Our unit had 2 bathrooms and wahser dryer great view of the gold course and hint of ocean view beyond that. We did 1 week with all inclusive plan and 1 week without. It is worth the money as you have access to all 11 restaurants bars and discount on golf after 3pm. Mulligans as always food is terrific . beach bar and curtis Yah he celebrated 30 years this year he is fun and makes best drinks ever! This is our 3rd stay at this resort and I would not hesitate to return. shuttles are readily available and construction has been completed on the new check in area.Housekeeping are pleasant and always leave new supplies for you. kitchen counters are little in the 1 bedroom units but certainly workable.beach in low rise area is so much slower than high rise aea lots of space to swim without annoying jet skis and boats.

I own 2 timeshare units at the Divi Golf, being a second floor lock off. We have been there 3 times, and each time we have had trouble with checking in and getting the units we own. This trip 2/18-2/25 was no differant, and the worst experiance yet.
After a long one and a half days of travel (Boston-Houston-Aruba), we arrived late (approx 5:30pm.) After about 1/2 in line for check in we got our turn to be a unhappy traveler. The desk agent started the paper work and told us we had 4 bottom floor units in 3 differant buildings. Well we had called and talked to NC 4 times and emailed 2 times to make sure that we could get our 2 units (2nd floor) and the 2 bottom floor units below because we have a few handicap people in our group. Each time they told us yes the note in in the system.
Our note also said that if we could not ge the 2 units below ours we would be happy to move to another build to get is set up. Ryan (the scheduler) was called to the front desk to help as he books the rooms. Well, he had given our units away and put us in the 4 bottom floors in 3 buildings, Just what we did not want. After about 3 hours we agreed to a solution of 1 Second floor unit (with hot tub above) the unit directly below and 2 first floor units in another building close by. To rub it in our bedroom window looked right at the 2 units we own and did not get. We had asked Ryan to call NC and see if we could get some sort of consulation but they denied us anything. Then tried to sell us a 3 bedroom unit so this would not happen again.
Anyway, After a week of talking about it with others we were not alone. We heard of at least 3 other cases were people did not get the units they own.
On the good side, almost all the staff was great. Curtis the bartender at the Sandpiper was the best. Garrett the general manager, although did nothing for helping us with units, did send a maintenace man to our unit and look for a small plane toy my son had left hiden and has been hoping to find it after 6 yrs. They did find it and he was so excited.
Food was very good, except the Red Parriot has gone down hill since our last visit.
It may be sometime before we go back. If you are thinking of buying, be ready to be unhappy that you might not get your unit.

This was an amazing experience. The Villa was so nice, and big. It was clean, and we had daily maid service. It was a very short walk to the beach (3 minutes), and way nicer than the hotel rooms right on the beach. The food and drinks were so good, and the service was awesome. The beach is amazing and we had it all to ourselves usually. The infinity pool was so great - biggest one ive ever seen! Great Place...will go back

Room Tip: Third floor villas have use of private hot tub

We went to the Divi Resort with 50+ friends and family .The Golf resort seems more high end but requires a lot of walking .We spent a majority of our time at Divi Village because of the beach and the Pelican Bar .Head Bartender Rapheal was Great as was everyone at the Pelican pool bar and pizza bar. The all inclusive package is definetly the way to go but you have access to everything only if you stay at the Golf resort. The front desk supervisor Crazy Gloria wins my award for best employee there she helped us with everything dinner reservations for 20+ people is not easy but she pulled it off we had an incredible all u can eat Prime Rib dinner at the Seabreeze and the staff there Gomada ,Marie and Shirley were all exceptional.Crazy Gloria also helpedwith taxi reservations to the airport and any issues we had were handled immeadiatly. Mulligans restaurant at the Golf resort was also incredible we had a great surf and turf and the drinks were great. The staff here was also great not that we had problems wiyh staff anywere . The rooms were always clean and we never felt our stuff wasnt safe.We will definetly be back we had one of the best vacations ever .Thanks to all at the resort .

Room Tip: Golf resort is the place to stay .Just call for shuttle tram if you dont want to walk

I had low expectations with Divi Golf and Beach resort but was blown away by the amenities. I stayed three nights in a one bedroom condo, at C4. The condo was immaculately clean and included a large kitchen for cooking, washer dryer, and a back yard terrance that had views of the man made river and golf course. The amenities such as the gorgeous blue water beach right across the street, swimming pools, bike rentals, and tennis courts were a nice plus too. The concierge were also very helpful in booking excursions and answering any questions.
The only downside was that I was not able to get wifi internet access inside the condo which drive me slightly bonkers. My Ipad and iphone could not connect at all. But found that i could connect if I hung outside in the terrance to connect using a Macbook(i'm sure PC laptop will work)to the resort wifi. If you can deal without internet then this is the condo for you, next time I will research the condos in the resort that has no problem with internet.

Room Tip: Do not get C4 condo if you love being connected to the internet

First let me say the best thing about Aruba is a special woman named "Urmie" from Royal Car rental. I had a Hummer H3 reserved for over six months. Urmie called one week prior to our arrival to let me know that the Hummer had a broke window. Hummer, Bummer. Well Urmie made good with a Lexus at a discount. Several calls and emails later (mostly me, changing from Lexus to Jeep and such) Urmie calls to let me know that the Hummer was fixed and we could have it for our vacation. All said and done, I paid $551.00 for the week including taxes.
The Hummer was great. royal was at the airport to pick us up as planned. They also drove us back to the airport in the Hummer so we didn't have to switch all of our luggage. Top notch group of people. For those of you who had stuff stolen from a jeep convertable, Try using your head next time. A pinch of common sense will save you and your belongings. (NOT ROYALS FAULT) And yes, they did tell us not to leave stuff in car and that a jeep soft top was not a vehicle to leave unattended. Thank you so very much Urmie. You rock.

DIVI! Our second trip to Divi Village. Place was nice but getting run down. We had no water in our unit for the first day due to a broken water line. No compensation, no free drinks at the pool bar. Just garbage cans all over the place full of water for us to fetch for ourselves so we could flush the toilet. They let us check in knowing there was no water and then we had to go stand in line again to be told they already knew it. They said if they gave us free drinks or any kind of compensation, they would have to give it to all without water.....UM, YEAH, you should.

The pool chair freaks were fun to watch every morning. By seven every chair was full of towels, masks, books, flip flops, just NO people. Signs say unattended crap will be removed. Not true. So I would get up early to save our four chairs. Did I say that we never hang at the pool. The chair freaks would look in discust as there FAV chairs were taken.(HAH, got you) Then after breakfast and we were ready to leave for the day, I would pull the towels leaving four chairs open to the first to flock. Childish yes, fun, YUP! Hello, there is a real beach and water right accross the road.

Drunk chick at the pool bar was disturbing to say the least. Stumbling, sluring, spilling drinks. Bartender, give the stupid girl with one butt cheek hanging out another rum and redbull. (and he does) I would think a bartender would cut a seriously drunk person off before , oh, I don't know, she DIES of alcohol poisoning. Add that to a fire truck RED sun burn. Poor thing.

One Sappy Island! The people here are just the most sullen little people I have ever had the pleasure of talking to. This must be why they are changing there logo to "I heart Aruba" because they sure don't Heart us. Did'nt the "I heart anything" logo go out of style like ten years ago. The only two song artists you will hear in aruba seem to be Bob Marley and Pitbull.
They play them at night in town on these semi trucks loaded with giant speakers. So loud that we could feel the bass in our room with windows and doors closed. Over the sound of our own pool, Jamaican??? music.

So rent a car from Royal Car Rental and get out of your hotel, Condo, pool chair and explore the whole island. Its cool and fun. Even if the people are not friendly, or the food cost a lot, or the locals honk at you (move) there is a ton of landscape to enjoy.

Oh well, we still had a great time getting lost all over the island as nothing is marked. Most not worth the drive time or gas. But fun just getting lost. Baby beach is nice, Any beach is nice, for god sake. The trip to Natural pool can only be made with a Jeep or Hummer. Seriously! fun rock climbing, Pool is small. The drive was the best if you like rock crawling in a four wheel drive.

Four burgers, four fries, for cokes....$68.00 Tip included (duh). (Divi Sea breeze) All food on the island is expensive.

Bottom line, We will not return. On to the next adventure.

Room Tip: All rooms seem to be run down.
