We loved our one night stay on Barbuda, which is really special. Our room in the Palm Tree Guest House was spacious and clean. The porch is good for having a drink and a smoke in peace. The location of the guesthouse is nothing special and/or romantic, but it is safe. The guesthouse is nothing fancy, but practical therefore we can recommend it for one or two nights. We had a car and loved our trip to Princess Diana Beach - we had it for ourselves!!! There was no breakfast as described in other reviews, but only a cup of coffee, which was fine with us. When we were on the island in Codrington there was only one restaurant open for lunch and one pizzeria open for dinner. So plan your eating ahead to avoid going hungry to sleep.

We stayed here for two nights and were quite comfortable. Cerene very accommodating and made sure we were able to get around. She made a lovely breakfast and last day made our lunch. Our room and the grounds were clean and attractive although the shower didn't have much flow.

My husband and I flew over from Antigua for a 2 day stay on Barbuda. We loved the Palm Tree from the start. After a glitch trying to rent a car, we were able to explore this great island at our leisure. Cerene was very helpful directing us to the things we wanted to do. We enjoyed breakfast in her restaurant/bakery for 2 mornings and she provided us a delicious home cooked meal from her daughter on a Sunday night when most things are closed-- it was a treat!
Our room was very clean, comfortable and safe. Barbuda is a lovely, quiet island with no frills, but if you are in the mood for an adventure, it is the place for you. We plan to visit again, probably for longer, just to get away from it all and enjoy gorgeous deserted beaches. The people are friendly and helpful. We hope Barbuda gets the help it needs from tourism again-- it is truly a gem. Thanks to Cerene for providing a wonderful place to stay!

Having stayed here several times, the service is always excellent. The rooms are spacious and air conditioned, in addition to being equipped with cable TV and fridge. It is very close to town as well. Highly recommend.

I had such a good time. felt like my home away from home very peaceful and well kept surroundings. I would reccommend anyone to stay there. very close to town and the beach and of course the airport. They even had freshly grown mint in the yard where i helped myself to mint tea each morning :-) Thumbs up.

We agree with other travellers who liked this accomodation a lot and we reccomend it to everyone.

Mrs. Cerene was kind and proffessional, she helped us with information we needed. I think she is one of few individuals on the island that knows how to develop tourism on Barbuda (that is a compliment).

Rooms are very clean and confortable enough. Breakfast and dinners were delivered to our room - we sincerely reccomend Mrs. Cerenes cooking. There are not many restaurants on the island (we found one during our 6 days on the island and mrs. Cerene opened a new restaurant during that week, in the village next to her bakery).

Barbuda is a flat island with very little traffic, green and there are wild donkeys and wild horses all over the island. That is the reason that we also reccomend hireing modern and confortable mountain bikes from Mr. Jonathan - he has a house in the center of village. In march 2011 he had a selection of more than 10 well kept bicycles, the smallest one would fit a 10 years old child but our 7 years old son Tim was using it with great pleasure aswell for 6 days - at that time we were all happy that he was tall :).

Mr. Jonathan also rents two most modern and confortable sea kayaks - perfect way of exploring the calm lagoon.

Barbuda is a very safe island with nice people, if you feel like not spending whole vacation in a touristy Antigua - go there for a few days.

Sights: Pink sand beach, other beaches, fregate bird colony (transport required), Darby cave (ask first how to get there - a nice flat 1 hour walk through the dry forest), other beaches where you will be alone, Two foot bay (strong currents, not for swimming) with a cave. Talk with nice people (you find them in the village only ;)).
