The cottage is adorable and spacious - it has everything you need. Lovely outdoor patio for enjoying the breeze and a meal or drink. Easy walking distance to things to do. A great find!
I completely enjoyed my stay at Captains cottage this summer. It was a really nice place just up the hill from St. Georges main street but isolated enough so that we were undisturbed by any traffic or noise while at the cottage. The place also had some real Bermudian history which our host explained. It had plenty of room for me and my wife and 2 kids and was comfortable to all of us. It was withing walking distance of 2 beaches but also just up the hill from all St. Georges attractions as well as the ferry stop. I would go back tomorrow if I could.
My sister and I were so pleasantly welcomed to this beautifully set home on a nice yard in residential St Georges walking distance to downtown. Very clean and well appointed, we rented scooters, shopped at Somers Grocery, visited Robertsons Pharmacy, and shopped the many lovely shops (love the Island Shop) on Water Street. We enjoyed delicious dishes at the Wharf, the Tempest, Wahoo, White Horse, and the Beach Club off St Catherine's Fort beach. Enjoyed many beaches in St Davids like Clearwater (eat at Gomebys) and Long Bay, and Tobacco Bay. It was so nice to come home in the afternoon and relax at the outside table and recount our great times as we enjoyed a cocktail, and planned our next adventure. Thanks Alex!
My husband and I stayed at the cottage in June. This is a beautifully renovated home in a quiet residential area. It is also an easy walk to town. The house was very clean and the owner was quick to respond to any questions prior to booking and through out our stay on the island. I would not hesitate to stay here again if we return to Bermuda.
We spent five days in the Captain's Cottage at beginning of May. It is an historic home that has been lovingly renovated and has all the modern features you would expect.
It is in a great location. It is a short five minute walk from downtown St George's where you will find restaurants, grocery stores, shops, local buses and the ferry to the Dock Yards. Fifteen minutes in the other direction are two great beaches (Tobacco Bay and St Catherine's). There are very nice walks along the coast and the roads have very little traffic.
We will definitely look to stay in the Captain's Cottage when we are back in Bermuda.
