Check was was smooth and easy. Karen was very pleasant and we were greeted with rum punch and advised our rooms weren’t ready just yet but they would escort us to afternoon tea and we could come back any time after 3. We were still getting some food when Rolston came and found us to let us know our rooms were ready. He was so great and took our stuff up to the room and came back to find us and give us our keys.

We waited for a half hour at afternoon tea to get some food (which in hindsight we may have been ahead of the actual tea schedule and they might have just been accommodating us which was lovely of them to do) but it is Bajan time and if we hadn’t been up for 14 hours at that point and starving we probably wouldn’t have cared but the rum punch was delicious! Be careful it can creep up on you! Mary Anne was a delight at the bar and so were Durwin and Anthony. Durwin quickly became one of our favorites and the first to remember our names!!
Buffet at the sunset grill is Saturday and Monday. They will have already made a reservation for you at Sunset Grill for your first night. Saturday we had plenty of variety to choose from and it was all very good! Monday was the managers reception. We missed the cocktail hour but the dinner was quite good and contained variety from the previous buffet two nights prior. Sunday evening we ate at Enids which was quite good as well. We were told the menu there changes every two or so days. You do have to make reservations for all evening restaurants but you can do so up to three days in advance if you like. Enids is closed on buffet nights. Sunset has 8 different menus that it alternates through. We did sit down meals there for dinner twice and both were quite good. We elected to alternate between Enids and Sunset to give some changes as Enids is air conditioned so it was nice to have that change for the evening. Plus you have access to the De Rum Shop Bar, which is a kinda cool atmosphere, air conditioned and quite enjoyable.

The sunset bar has nightly entertainment. You can hear it from your room if you are close to the bar/pool area and likely from any room though i was in building B so very close and my room had one of those open living room lay outs, even in my bedroom with the door closed I could clearly hear. They end promptly at 11pm which is quite considerate and the party migrated to the piano bar. The Project was one of the better evening entertainment! Saleta was absolutely a delight at the bar, we truly enjoyed chatting and laughing with her. We had Sylvester and Engrid one night and they were hysterical, personable and so much fun they seemed to love their job! Elvis and Sophia are an absolute joy and we got to experience them at Enids.

We have Vasselka for afternoon tea, lunch and dinner at Enids many times and she is an absolute delight. Truly the people who keep The Club running are fantastic! Jemina in the restaurant was another one of our favorites. No matter who was working we were always greeted very quickly and sat promptly.

As other reviews have stated, there is not real beach to speak of (a man-made one for lounging has been created), though you can walk in either direction and find a beach. You can however swim in the ocean in front of the resort. There are waves and depending upon high tide verse low tide, getting in and out can be an adventure all its own, but we loved it! The water was always the perfect temperature! We traveled in October and had no issue getting loungers. There were even huge stacks of them hidden out of site should the need arise for more, though I think space would become an issue. You are quite close to the people next to you when using the loungers on the man-made beach. We enjoyed grabbing our loungers right in front of the stone wall so we could hear the ocean. Though during high tide the waves do come crashing over the wall, which is a surprise but a pleasant one for cooling off (just be mindful of your books/phones and other gear you don’t want to get wet). We also elected to lounge by the pool a few times. It is really just one pool, but broken up into 3 different areas so you have to get out of one pool to get to the other but they are all connected by waterfalls and in the same area. The pool was also a nice temperature and most of the time you could find loungers, though we did notice them being saved for hours upon hours with no one returning and no one removing their items. Typically we would return to the stone wall to have a cocktail in the early evening and watch the sunset. You had two bar options, one near Sunset Grill and one on the beach. Getting a drink was never a long wait and the man-made beach also had drink service as did the pool. The only complaint we had about the ambiance/man-made beach is there was a large sink hole that appeared to have been there for a while. We stayed for 8 nights and never once did we see anyone tending to it. It had yellow caution tape around it to keep people away but it was quite unsightly. We understand things happen but when it is impacting the lounging area and the view and frankly potential safety, we felt it should be tended to more quickly. Though my guess is it is a larger issue they need to tend to with the structure of the wall long term. When looking at the water, the building to the right also had the same issue. It was all cornered off with caution tape and some temporary walls (also unsightly). We felt sorry for the folks who had those ground floor walk out rooms (an upgrade and premium) as they could not use the walk out portion since the pathway was essentially eroded away and unsafe. Hopefully that has since been resolved as the views from those rooms are gorgeous.

We were on vacation just to rest and relax but we did venture out one day to St Nicholas Abbey and had a fantastic time rum tasting and touring the facility. We also did a couple walks along the ocean, you get creative on how to get past and over to the walkable beaches in both directions. The challenge is part of the fun. All in all we had a very nice time. The resort needs a bit of a facelift but the people who work there are absolutely outstanding, kind, funny and purely wonderful!

Visited Club Barbados and Barbados for the first time Jan 10 to 20/18. Bus took about 45 min. from the airport. Checkin was quick and Richard took our luggage to the room and took time to explain everything in the room. Yes resort is older but room was very clean and everything worked. Pattelle our maid kept things spotless and was very nice.Booked an ocean view loft but was dissappointed it had no balcony, but did have a great view. Overall resort grounds are kept very clean. Beach area is small but useable. If you wanted a larger beach a 5 minute walk in either direction would get you there. Did not have any problem getting lounges around the pool area. Pools are quite cold and would say 90% of people not enjoying them because of the temperature. Beach water temperature was excellent. A La Carte dining in the main restaurant was great and booking in advance was no problem. Menu varied each night and you had at least 5 options to choose from for appetizer, main meal, and dessert. Staff serving were all very friendly and because the resort is small they are addressing you by name after awhile. Bar service was excellent, and shout outs to Collis, Darwin, Sylvester, Elvis, Chartlotte,Vinny,Saleta, Sophia. Mike the security guard was an excellent source of info and local culture. Took the local bus into Oistin to visit the Harley shop and it was a different but exciting experience. Short walk from the resort took you to duty free, craft shops, and grocery store. Did one day long excursion "Just Bim" to visit Harrison Caves, Floral Forest, CHerry Hill, St Nicholas Abbey, Bathsheba. Was okay but felt quite rushed, with little time to check out souvenir shops. Tour guide was excellent proving lots of local info. There were several short showers on many days and would be nice if umbrellas were available in the rooms, or at least some to borrow in the front lobby when people go for a walk. Free boat tour from the resort along the shore was also a nice extra. Checkout went very quickly. Cannot say enough about the friendliness of the staff,, and the quality and variety of food available. Well worth the money and would return.

Room tip: Ocean view rooms are great but some on the fourth floor have no balcony

Me and my Girlfriends decided to have a weekend getaway, and The Club Barbados happened to be our choice. From the time we stepped in, to the time we departed, we felt welcomed and like family. We had a beautifulll beach front view and the room was more than we expected. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner was nothing short of amazing, thanks to Mary who helped assist in selection with the delightful dinner menu. We were unable to do the Water sport activities because the sea was rough but we were directed to the pool and later the bar where the drinks kept flowing and we created a bond with some of the other members of staff(Ms. Davis, Corrie,Durwin & Amir just to name a few). We will be most definitely returning. Thanks for the hospitality and keep up the great service.

Sincerely,

The Squad

Room tip: Our beach front room was nice #217/271 lol
