This is our second trip to Buddy Dive in two years and as far as the diving goes still the best shore and boat diving resort on Bonaire. While the diving is perfect the grounds and the rooms could use a bit of touch up. Also the food service at Blennie's is sooo slooow you nearly go hungry waiting. Aside from those minor things the resort is still a top notch dive resort. If you are not going to use the trucks and enjoy only boat diving then I would suggest Capt. Don's next store.

We stayed at Buddy dive for 7 nights in July we did six boat dives everyone at the dive shop was super helpful and friendly! Thanks Kim for answering all our questions All the dive masters had a good sense of humor on the boats. The gear locker area was nice and super convenient for quick access to the boats or gear up for shore diving the drive thru fill station was awesome they really have this resort set up to make it easy
The truck was alright not super fancy but for our needs.
Breakfast was good same choices most days but we found plenty to indulge in from fresh fruits and pastries to omelette and pancakes.
Our room was very nice the ac worked well and everything was in working order the sliding glass door was a bit sticky and could be hard to open.

Just spent a week at Buddy Dive with two families, with a mix of new and experienced divers. The best part of the resort is the reef -- easy to access, lots of fish and coral, and fantastic for night dives. Other positives include clean rooms, A/C that works great in the rooms, good morning breakfast, and easy access to town.

On the negatives, the gear at the rental shop is bad. We had 4 people rent equipment, and all had issues. Regulators that would have lose bolts in the first stage that prevented it from holding air pressure, hoses leaked, dive computers would not work, rips in the mouthpieces. The shop was also not cooperative when trying to replace faulty gear. Also, the trucks are a falling apart. We did not have breakdown, but we worried about it when we were exploring the far reaches of the island. The list of issues with the truck are too many to mention -- just google Grand Tiger truck and see for yourself. When returning the truck with 7/8 of gas showing on the gauge the front desk wanted to charge me an extra $35 for returning with less than a full tank (I put gas in the car at the nearest gas station, and literally drove straight to the front desk to drop it off).

With pros and cons balancing out, I give it 3 stars.

It was our third visit and by far the best! We had a specific room we requested and although we couldn't get into it the first night, we were moved the next day. The breakfast buffet was great, I think my husband goes back just for the Omelet Station! The dive shop was helpful with shore dive sites and we had a very convenient locker to store our gear.

Room Tip: Stay in the 500 building! Great location, close to pool and dive shop.

We have been coming every other year for 23 years and love it EVERY time. It is a diver's paradise and not necessarily a five-star resort. Very comfortable and so clean. The staff is fantastic. We have never had any issues and plan to return for another 23 years. Beautiful reef at your doorstep... what is not to like!!!
