Beside jamming balkony doors,we had no issues, but the food pallette took a while to get used to. Excellent entertainment especially the Aqua show. Very reasonable price, clean, very nice and friendly staff we felt sorry for. They did not accept any cedit cards, cash only we had to get from our credit cards. Ask for a room in the North, away from the highway.

My wife and I were at Brisas del Caribe March 30 to April 13, 2012. We went with another couple which was a first for us and it was fun to have someone else to hang around with.
We went with Air Canada Vacations and to this resort because of the price. The plane was extremely cramped and Air Canada serves no food on their flights south, not even a bag of peanuts. We were very disappointed with their rep at the resort. He was only there one hour per day the first week and not there at all the second week. So much for service.
My wife and I had been to this resort before in 2005 and it hasn't changed very much. We stayed on the South side this time, where the rooms are larger but further away from everything. The rooms are spacious and clean. We had no problems in our room but our friend's air conditioning quit one day. After 4 phones calls to the front desk, nothing was done. The next morning when the maid came, she made one phone call and 10 minutes later someone was there and fixed the air. Tips Work. There are 2 pools and no problem getting seats in the shade. The beach is very nice but we are really not beach people.
Service overall was very good except if you went to the 24 hr. bar. If you could get waited on everyone behind the bar couldn't figure out what you wanted.
My main complaint with this resort and Cuba in general is that the food sucks. The very same thing over and over. The food here was poor quality but not as bad as last year when we went to TRYP Varadero which had the worst food I have ever eaten.
We went off site twice to eat out. Once to Al Capone's and once to DuPont Mansion. The food was better than the resort but still not great for the price.
We did a guided tour of Havana and also of Varadero which were both very good. We also went one evening to a concert of retired musicians which was also very good.
Over all, we had a great two weeks in the sun with good friends but because of the poor food I feel that Cuba is a one week only destination.
This resort is a solid 3.5* just as advertised.

the beach was great, the service was great, im not a picky eater so i alwys found something to eat but my friend lived off bread and rice
my only true complaint is the amount of cockroaches in the room and outside the room and main lobby.... so grose, i couldnt sleep i lived in fear of them crawling on me while i slept
i woulnt go back for that reason, if bugs dont nother you it is a ok hotel and the beach is great!!!!

Room Tip: dont sleep on the main floor in the main buiding, smells and i killed so many cockraoches befor switching rooms the south section is way better, go higher up for the rooms in south section they are less muggy smelling. also the south section is kind of private it was neat... main building had tons of bugs!! south section is quiter yet still has a 24 bar and snack bar

Okay for anyone who wants to go here .. DONT READ THE BAD REVIEWS.. i came here april 24-may 1 and i was so scared going here knowing what everyone wrote about this resort so I went there with bad thoughts.. but when i got there it was great..

1: there is cosmetic things that could be fixed but is your house perfect? because im pretty sure a resort by the beach is going to beat your house anyday ..
2:The rooms are so spacious and clean .. our maid was awesome .. also ask for Doug to help you with your bags he was AWESOME!.
3:The beach i actually dont have words for .. it was the most beautiful beach i have ever seen.. the water was so blue and warm i spent a good 3 hours in there our last day there.. people are complaining about garbage and stuff like people come on.. the poeple who work there work so hard and they are not going to sit and wait for someone to drop something and then run and pick it up ... like honestly get a grip. The pools were always clean and they were great as well.
4:the food i wasnt a big fan of but i wish i knew this because there is a microwave in the buffet so i woulda brought some soup and stuff .. good idea !! its not the resorts fault its just all cuba i went to numerous places and wasnt impressed with the food but i always found something that i liked.

anyways people i could go on and on about this resort but the bottom line is .. save your selfs and do not read negative reviews people are just picky and ridiculas i found nothing wrong with this resort at all.. It was beautiful .. I hope you guys have a wonderful trip..

Room Tip: south section was farther away but very quiet and i enjoyed it because it was by the 24 hour snack bar .. get the cheese pizza its great

Just returned from 9 nights in Varadero, April 26th- May 5th. Don't believe all the negative reviews out there. This is a modest, clean resort. The food is okay, not great but always something you will like. Just don't expect immaculate conditions like at a 4 star in Las Vegas or Mexico, it is Cuba!! The people are extremely friendly even before you tip. I don't understand reviews that say they are not friendly unless you tip them. NOT TRUE. We saw some vistitors who cut in lines, never tipped, and interupted staff when dealing with others, but the staff still treated them well. The staff really appreciate the tips. Cubans make only 25 CUC per month and work 6 days per week. Don't be cheap, tip them!!! A few CUC's per meal, and a few CUC's to the bar tenders and they will roll out the red carpet for you. We went to the dollar store and brought about $75 worth of razors, soaps, crayons, pencils, etc, and left some out each day for the maid. She really liked them as these items are not cheap for them there.
The entertainers are really fun at the beach and the pool. There is bingo, dance lessons, volleyball, darts, and several other games.
At the beach where you get the peddle boats, kayaks to use you can go on a snorkel trip. Well worth it.
We also went deep sea fishing(nice time on the boat), Havana, and scuba diving.
The beach is great, water clear, staff friendly. The resort is clean, in a good location, modest. Would definately go back.
When asking for your room request not to be on ground floor, some musty areas.

Room Tip: Ask for a 2nd floor or higher room
