We found this one after the chappy on the main street told us about it, so we thought we'd go for a drink and look at the menu.
Basically the place appears to have been set up in someone's garden and front room. There's a small outside bar and 4 tables in what was the front garden or terrace, and some more tables inside.
Just having a drink was no trouble at all, so we perused the menu. There were a two tables taken by canadians, who we asked about their food and both said it was great, so we were sold. The only down side was being told the toilet was broken so we had to cross our legs!
It was absolutely fabulous. My hubby had the paella which was a really good sized portion and was piping hot right down the the bottom of the very deep dish, and I had the smoked pork chops which were huge and accompanied by mashed potato, brown rice, veg and salad.
This was the best meal we had in Varadero and we highly recommend the place. It was very reasonably priced, and is worth a try. We passed on our compliments to the chef, and the owner then called the lady from the kitchen so we could thank her in person.
If you are in Varadero, give it a go (but do pop to the loo before you go there just in case it's not fixed!)
