My husband and I are shareholders at lifestyle and receive amazing service. The one downside is that it doesn't matter how much you buy, you are still escorted up to 'The Tower' to get a new bag or some such other nonsense. When you get there, the sales staff pounce and try to get you to sign up for the next offer!
Having said that, the rest of our stay could not have been improved. A word of caution to anyone not a shareholder, is that you are not given the same service or drinks in the villa . Check what you are entitled to before you book. If booking through another member, be warned they may not know if the allowances have changed.
The people cannot do enough for you, the food is available 24/7. I defy anyone to get hungry. The welcome party is spectacular the first couple of times you see it. I have not experienced it but the children's club is meant to be very good.
The restaurant menus do not change as far as I can see, which can be a bit boring, but if you are going for the one trip, I would recommend, The Indian, Azul and if it is not windy the VIP night at Skewers, the menu is okay for one meal and the experience of sitting next to the Ocean is lovely.
We have had lovely family holidays here, the villas range from 3 bed roomed for up to 6 people right up to 12, I think, for 24 people. You never know until you get there what villa you will be in and if going with a big party, be prepared to be put into more than one villa. Some of the older 'Spanish' style villas have very deep swimming pools with no shallow bits.
If you have the Limo or helicopter included you will be picked up from and taken to the airport, otherwise a serviceable minivan takes you.
All in all there are variable reports about the place and all can be true from good to bad, it depends on what package you have and what villa you are in.
We love it and are going back again but we get fed up with the sales pitch, my advice is to give in on the first day, go and hear the deal and get it over with. They do leave you alone once you've been.
I hope this helps you decide.
We found LHVC three and a half years ago and are always surprised at how well they make a large resort work so we come back every year. We were with family the first two years and brought friends the third year. We are coming twice this year with more friends and more family. There is so much to see and do on the resort and we enjoy the country as well. I think that the Dominican Republic is largely undiscovered by most of the US. The country is beautiful and there is a new cruise ship port being built near the resort as well as a new golf course.
The resort offers many luxury options and the service is excellent
