This is the local beach in Bayahibe. Its where all the local people go. The waters are crystal clear. They have alot of local souvenir shops on the beach and the prices are the best i found in Bayahibe. The locals are so friendly and made us feel extremley welcome. I went to this beach 3 times in 7 days because i love the vibes so much. After dark the locals go there to party.
Definatley going back to visit the friends that we have made.

We visited for our honeymoon and were less than satisfied. Check in was a HUGE pain. We waited 1.5 hours to actually get into our room and it wasn't even the room we paid for. We paid extra to have an ocean front bungalow and they "upgraded" us to a suite. While the suite was bigger, it was a 5+ minute walk to the beach which was not acceptable. The second day we spent 50% of the day moving from the suite to our correct bungalow. The air conditioning went out in our room and they were very adamant that we must sleep in the 85 degree room. It took 3 hours to convince them to move us for the night. The food was decent. The only restaurant on the resort we really like was the Italian restaurant. The staff was just okay, kind of rude and didn't do much to accommodate our lack of Spanish speaking skills. The others guys, aside from a few, were pretty rude.

On the bright side, our catamaran excursion and the bar service was AMAZING!

We would go back to Punta Cana but not to this resort.

Room tip: Rooms in the garden are the most quiet.

This was the first resort in Punta Cana for our very first trip in Dominicana.
We spent five days there and thanks to the beautiful weather it was rather OK.
Not a place where we would come back. This always depends on what you seen and experienced before and I had much better experiences.
Rooms were comfortable and the food was rather acceptable but not great, poor selection.
We had an annoying stay and felt happy when ending and leave in another resort.

The reception staff are polite, efficient and speak several languages. I.E. Spanish, English, French, German, Italian, etc.

The Hotel itself encompasses several acres of land. The majority of hotel rooms are located in three story condominiums and bungalows. Although small by North American standards the rooms are clean and welcoming.

There are many stone walkways criss-crossing the grounds. These lead to the beach, pools, restaurants and entertainment venues. One can enjoy a romantic walk, enjoying the many palm trees, flowers and various vegetation. Located at east end, there is small pond, filled with ducks and a variety of birds. Encompassing this location are a number of businesses selling local wares, painted in a variety of colours to resemble the local villages.

The restaurants and bars are strategically located so as to be convenient to you the customer. The main restaurant for all inclusive customers provides a wide variety of food selection and is plentiful. The quality of food varies from good to very good. The dessert table is filled with an excellent selection of cakes, pies and local fruit, etc. The only slight downfall is that due to the large numbers of customer served during meals, some of the hot dishes are sometimes lukewarm or cold. However if you ask them they will warm up your plate.

There are several restaurants that will cater to a variety of tastes. Spanish cuisine, Italian cuisine, Sea food cuisine, etc. The best Restaurant is called 25. My wife and I totally enjoyed a wonderful steak with trimmings and dessert. By the way all meals including desserts are fabricated on the premises.

The Beach is divided into two sections. An inviting white sandy shoreline filled with plastic recliners lying under a cover of palm trees. A lovely setting, if you want to swim lie in the sun or read a book. The pools are clean and relaxing.

Throughout the day and evening there are many entertainers encouraging customers to partake in beach volleyball, dance exercises , aerobics etc,. There is also a high wire act. At night There is a stage presentation ressembling a broadway musical. The persons involved are dedicated professionals providing excellent value to customers.

There is a kids park and a nursery so that the parent can get away for a few hours of rest and enjoyment. Every day there are programs dedicated to children. The little ones can be heard whooping it up with cries of joy and excitement.

There are many excursions available. I.E. Boat trips, sport fishing. para-sailing, para-gliding, boat or catamaran trips to local islands, For those who like diving, the waters here are clear and pristine.

WIFI in the lobby only. Its very spotty. Its best to purchase WIFI minutes on arrival for the week. That way you can access anywhere on the resort.

A tourist card is required to visit the Dominican. It can be purchased online and printed. It will save you time at the airport.

You should also purchase travel insurance for the duration of your stay. My wife had low sugar glycemic attack and we were happy to have the coverage. There is a doctor on location which speaks Spanish, english and at least another language. He is very friendly and competent.

The only downfall is that this resort is located one hour from the airport. We pre-booked a go-shuttle. All went well. This was not a problem for us as we prefer a quieter resort verses the humdrum of a multi resort filled locations.

This is an excellent price friendly resort for families and couples alike. I would recommend it to anyone. Dont expect five star treatment, It is not that. But if you like a homy, friendly, efficiently run place, that it is. The service is exceptional.

I would return again if the opportunity presented itself.

Bon Voyage

If you're looking at spending no more than 150US$ per night and you want good value for money this is a good choice.Food is good, entertainment depends on the night but in general above average, facilities for a 4 star are very good. Staff friendliness, the lower you go the better they get. Bad points, rooms are comfortable but are old and have severe problems with aircon, avoid weekends as many locals come to the hotel and there is severe overbooking. Try avoiding Internet, it's expensive at 20US$ for 3 days and doesn't work in rooms. Need cigarettes?, there is a Colmado (shop) just outside, the difference is more than 2 US$ a pack.
To conclude, great Monday to Thursday hotel at 150 US$ per room (2 adults) per night

Room tip: Just make sure the room doesn´t have leakage from aircon.
