“All in all a first class vacation”

We had the VIP reservations and Boy were we given the royal treatment. From the drinks when we arrived - check in was quick - to the check out just as efficient. We were travelling as a family (my 3 sisters, 2 brother-in-laws, my 90 year old dad and myself). My younger sister requested a room in the main floor because of a sprain foot which they accomodated right away. The rooms were very clean and well equipped, with a tray of food waiting for us on the table, towels folded like birds and fresh flowers. Luxury! The food was hot enough and excellent everywhere particularly the scrambled eggs at the buffet, normally always too cooked and dry in such a place but always perfect there. The beach was clean and water relatively clean apart from some seaweed brought over with the wind. It was the staff particularly that made our stay so enjoyable. Everywhere whether in the restaurants, the unit, lounges, bar or on the beach, we were inpressed by how caring, attentive to our needs and extremely friendly everyone was. Too numerous to mention, but we won't forget Fernando on the beach always smiling and ready to serve and Crismilda in our special VIP lounge so helpful for all our requests. Too bad we had to switch room on the last day because of our airconditioning unit being defective and leaking. We were celebrating my dad's 90th birthday - it was our 1st time ever to take a vacation as a family. Thank you for making this event a memorable one.
We would definitely love to go back !!!

My wife and i arrived at 10:30 pm , There was no one to greet us with a cool towel or cold beverage. As we were checking in i noticed a mahine with cool drinks poured us a glass. No problem checking in however there was no one to take our bags or escort us to our room . We were told our room was down around the corner . We were on the newer side and knew what to expect as we had been to Porta plata marien. Our air was not working and had two days and two request before it was fixed. Lots of pools all over the resort some newer and cleaner tham others. Lots on chairs on the beach and lots of people forever trying to sell you cheapy cheapy , Its easy to get a seat close to the surf as this is where the vendors are hanging out. Calm beach with a little seaweed as this is the ocean. Lots of good walking and you can go a long way up thebeach beautiful . The older part of the resort is older and that is exactly the right description for it . Main buffet was hot and noisey however there was a wide variety of all foods . Tables were old and chairs very dirty . These should be replaced. As you leave or approach Windows be prepared to run the gaunalet of time share salespeople . No graciosus . We ate at Aquas a lot as it was smaller and more persoanl service. Champange for breakfast yummey . Good omeletes and brazialian at night mt favorite. My beloved liked the tapinaki show i found it hot. Deep fried ice cream is fine . Tipping is alive and well and i tip for good service . Staff works hard they deserve it. Chicken wings and smelts on the beach bar is a two minute walk . Pizza hamburgs etc here not bad just have them cook it more for you . Then we had a day of heavy rain which caused flodding all over the resort. Fun walking through two feet of dirty water . But i did as i was on vacation and we made the best of our time We met lots of great staff peolpe and familes from all over the world and this is why we love the DR . This resort had beautifull grounds and was well kept . A lot of the work is just repairing the things that have gotten old. We had fun and got a good price for this trip . We probably would not return but we like to go to differnt resorts.
My wife just informened me she really did not like the buffet .

This was our third visit to BE LIVE PUNTA CANA.

Our first visit was when it was Oasis.

Last year, when BE LIVE took over, we were a litttle disappointed! The food was not as good as the year before and the staff seemed a little disorganized and unpleasant.



This year we were very pleased with the grounds, it seemed that many buildings had new paint and the place looked better.



The food was better and with all the restaurants being available, it was nice to try something different each day. Five a-la-carte plus the buffet.



Since we are club members, IVC, the new services in building #7 for club members was great. The staff there were very friendly and very efficient. The four staff, two girls and two young men in the concierge office in building #7 were excelent!!!!! The service bar on the beach for guests of building #7 was a nice feature (great idea). This building is for people who purchase junior/suite rooms or are club members.



When we checked in, there was an overbooking problem, which was handled as best as could be. Jonathan, in the lobby was able to take care of us and made sure that we got the accomodations that we paid for and were used to in building #7.



We look forward to returning next year again. .

Room Tip: If the booking is for a junior suite or better, ask for building #7. a room nearest to the beach.

I will start this with saying I definitely don't complain often about anything. Things have to be pretty bad for me to even bother mentioning it. Perhaps this is a one-off experience for this hotel, but it was our experience.

We ended up staying one night at this hotel after a cancelled flight. We had spent a beautiful week at The Hard Rock Hotel in Punta Cana. We had a super long check in with a 2 yr old and a 7yr old, who were both very patient after our long airport visit, and subsequent trip to Be Live. I was unhappy about the flight cancellation but excited to check out another resort. We were told we were being put in a special suite. It was the building 15 other have complained about. With no help offered, we went from the lobby to the furthest away building on the premises, dragging a bunch of luggage and kids. It was dark and no easy to find your way. We finally got there, and had to take a few trips in the tiny, never seen one so small before and I have been to many countries, but we finally made it to our room. When we went to unlock the door, we could hear the partying noise, so we looked over the balcony to find we were at the edge of the resort, right next to the town. Loads of people on the street yelling and partying. Not really a problem, but it was after 10pm, and we had two small kids.

We got into our room and immediately were hit with the heat. 29.8C in our room. So found the thermostat, and after working on it for a while, realized, we were stuck with it. We went to the fridge to get some cold drinks.. hmm fridge was broken too. Set my kids up on a bed, turned on the tv, hmm not working. My husband thought maybe the power to some plugs were out, so he tested them. nope, there was power to them. They were just broken items. I went out to the patio to see if it looked like the noise would ever die down, and realized our patio doors wouldn't close properly and wouldn't lock at all. Not bad, but watching people walking around on top of very nearby, off property buildings, was a bit questionable.
I got on the phone to call room service to order some cold drinks, but more specifically milk, for our daughter. The put me through to room service, no answer. So I tried again, and again a few minutes later. After trying for 30 minutes, my husband set off to find some milk, drinks and hopefully some food. He came back 25 minutes later, with a couple of very warm drinks and some milk. They told him there was no food to have at various locations and that there was no ice on the property. He went to a couple different bars and found out indeed, no ice. Not a big deal, but the drinks were extremely warm, and our room is basically 30C. I tried for room service, a few more times, being put through from the operator, to no avail. We decided we should just sleep.

I must mention here, that while sitting on the beds, I had to fight off numerous ants. Yes they were everywhere. I tried to find the source pulling them, and never did discover. In the bathroom, which was nice enough, there were hundreds of ants around the walls and sink area. A call to the front desk about some of these issues, and suggestions for us, got us nowhere.
How does one sleep when they fight ants off and out of their bed all night? One doesn't!

After such an amazing week at the Hard Rock, this was highly disappointing!

Room Tip: Choose another place, but definitely stay away from Building 15.

Had very short stay here - one day / night after a cancelled flight.
First impressions very good, lobby is very impressive and room (suite) was fabulous.
Goes down hill from here. Pool was dirty. No pool side service. Bartenders were drunk and service was slow.
Dinner - Went to restaraunt with three tables out of 20 being used and were told we needed a reservation. asked if we could make a reservation and were told yes tomorrow morning, then advised us to go to buffet. eventually when we gave our room number (suites bolck) we were given a table. Only two more tables came in while we were there. Had to ask for menus, were offered dessert after starters and medium rare steaks were burnt on to plates. Still hungry afterwards so tried the buffet - limilted choice and cold food.
Again we were only there for a very short time so not sure if it is always like this but they do say that first impressions last.

Are 2nd time at that hotel and it was really nice, food really good,beautiful beach,really neet,
peoples friendly, the only hick is if you travel at that hotel ask them not to be in block 15 or 12
to much noisy but other than that nice trip i would go back at any time.

Room Tip: If you want to go to that hotel ask to be in block 7,6,8.,avoid,15,12,11only those 3blocks the rest...

i wanted to have a quick trip away so i booked hotwire less than a week before going. i went with the cheapest option, but it still had decent reviews so i figured it wouldn't be so bad.

checkin process was all over the place. so many people checking in and only so many workers. i do believe they were doing the best they could, but i felt like it was more like ordering drinks at a bar than any other organization. if you happened to catch their eye, then you were good to go. while i was checking in there was a woman and her friend who were arguing with the front desk because they booked rooms together and didn't end up even being on the same floor. observing this within the first half hour of being there did not get me on the good foot.

since i booked an ocean view room i had to check in at the special jr. suites area. i booked a king bed and got two doubles.. which was fine. but the room so needed some updating. there were missing latches on the dressers... no "about the hotel" book in the room or room service menu. the beds were hard... which isn't generally what i like. there were some marks on the wall as well... no artwork... the faucets in the bathroom looked like they haven't been clean in a while. the balcony was nice... the chairs were hard however.

i didn't spend time at the main pool... it seemed super overcrowded anytime i took a stroll over there. it was very nice and relaxing by the pools in the jr. suites area which is where i spent most of my time.

the drinks were tasty, but the food was salty. and i ended up with an upset stomach on the last night after eating in the buffet.

overall it was a relaxing vacation, which was nice, but the service was not that of a 5 star resort. and i've stayed in nicer holiday inns than this resort. i'm glad i booked on hotwire and didn't pay full price, because it wouldn't have been worth the $200+ the expect for the room per night.

would i go back to punta cana? maybe... would i go back to this resort? probably not.

Room Tip: upgrade to superior deluxe or jr. suite for a quieter area...
