Just returned from our 8th visit to the Punta Cana Princess hotel. We were treated to a 'Welcome home' reception where many of the staff are like friends. The room was as we requested and expected. Clean, good maid service, great view and turn down each night.
The food was good with a different theme each night for supper. There are four separate restaurants serving Tex/Mex and steak, Italian, Seafood and Swiss style fondue. All the staff were helpful, cheerful and friendly. The beach is clean, sandy powder with a gentle slope to the turquoise/blue ocean.
Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, but you must remember it is adults only.

Room Tip: Building 4 is central to everything, middle or top floors have best views.

I was treated as a surprise by my boyfriend for two weeks at this hotel and resort and all I can say is 'wow oh wow oh wow'.

The hotel was an adult only complex, so no children running around the pool screaming, and I was able to relax to my hearts content. We could go next door however and use their facilities if we chose to.

The beach was private, and a very very short walk to the beach bar, however if you couldn't be bothered to get off your sun bed, then staff would attend to your every whim.

The rooms were luxurious, and would put some hotels in England to shame, but then you get what you pay for. The turn down service was an unexpected bonus, and to come back to clean towels in the shape of swans and fresh flowers on your pillow and in the bathroom was a nice touch.

When you visit, make sure you tip Nelson a few dollars, this will get you the premium spirits normally reserved for platinum visitors.

One minor thing though is that the mainstream holiday companies do not book this hotel as part of a package, more is the pity, however this just means that it will be even more exclusive lol.

All in all, a nice surprise, and I am already planning to have my honeymoon there WHEN my boyfriend proposes.

Room Tip: If you can afford to, then upgrade to Platinum, this gives more choice. Also, take colouring books...

Just got back on March 7. 14 of us flew with Sunwing. Flight times were great. We really thought you got a good value for your hard earned dollar. The food was quite good, There were 14 of us and we all enjoyed the meals. Some of us were picky and some of us were not. They always had a place for us to sit knowing the # of people we had. They just wanted a days notice for the a la cartes. Everybody was always happy to help and ask you if you want anything or if you had any issues. I have only really seen this attitude at the Sandals resorts. We know they are paid to be nice but it was a nice touch anyways. The resort was not over packed and you never waited too long for a drink. It is a really easy resort to get around. The sand on the beach was soft and no rocks. Some seaweed but not too bad. The beach went for miles. It was a bit breezy but it made it comfortable. If you went left from the resort, there was a flea market. It was about a 10 minute walk. I bought coffee from there for $5. The same coffee everywhere else was $10. Before you book any water sports from the hotel, go to the water sport shop on the beach. It is all the same tours but the hotel reps want a piece of the action too. For eg. The Party boat with snorkeling with stingrays and sharks cost us $80 pp at a discounted rate because there were 14 of us. The water sports shop was $60 pp. Who knows what the discount would of been if we told them there were 14 of us. The hottub was broken down more often than it was open. The beach bar area had these big lovely comfortable chairs that you did not want to leave. To end this, we have been to many all inclusives and we would have to say this is by far one of the nicest for the price.

Room Tip: Electricity is the same as Canada. Rooms close to the staircase were noisy. They were located at the...

Staff everywhere are wonderful. They seem genuinely happy, dancing, singing and joking with guests and co-workers. Property small: positive - very clean and well kept; negative - you have to reserve chairs before 7 a.m in order to get shade at the pool. A little later for shade at the beach but then you're getting palapas that you almost have to crawl into the sand has come up so high. In the case of bad weather there is really no where to sit inside out of the wind and rain. The lobby has very limited seating as does the bar near the beach beside Mare Nostrum. I often ask myself now, "if it rained for the week could I still have a good time?" It would be difficult here due to limited indoor space. Location/Beach - You can walk for miles and miles. The sand is a fine, white powder and the water the turquoise blue of the carribbean. The water temperature March 1-8 warm; I don't like cold water. Weather - very windy time of year, clouds blowing through but almost no rain. Temperature around 28 C/ 82 F every day. Food - The food is actually hot, not just warm. The main buffet has good breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lunch barbecue every other day on the beach, hamburgers, chicken etc. Luch buffet style close to beach with great nachos and fried chicken that is the best. Mare Nostrom seafood, lobster (no additional charge) and steak for those that don't like seafood. The steak dinners at Rio Grande were very good. We did not try the fondue or Italian restaurants. Beverage selection - they have everything; just ask. Rooms - the size and cleanliness allows you to overlook that which needs a bit of spucing up. This is mostly in the entrance, overhead siding bent and askue, bathroom shower rods and shower heads need replacing. There is a seating area one step down from the sleeping area. The balconies are lovely and large enough for 2 to sit out on. The mini fridge is stocked with coke, sprite, water and beer. It is replaced every day. Overall the rooms are lovely, beds comfortable but pillows not so for my husband nor myself. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing week this resort is for you. We had a great week and would return.

Room Tip: Explanation of average: Definately building 4 or 5. We were originally assigned to a room in buildin...

I just got back from 7 nights at the Punta Cana Princess (the adults only resort of the Princess group - Caribe and Tropical). I would say that overall it was a good trip and met my expectations. I was basically looking for a nice beach to relax on and read. Given we went at high season, cost was a concern. Considering this was cheaper than most of the others I saw, I was happy. The beach was absolutely beautiful. The rooms were clean (but the bed was hard), people were nice, food was almost average, and the drinks were good. I was surprised at how little English the staff and tour guides knew, so communicating was a big challenge. The resort was a bit slow but not too bad when the "Animation Team" got people playing games for a couple of hours in the afternoon. Most of the action happens at the sister resorts, which have kids.

Room Tip: Also, ask for building 4 or 5 if you can since the location is better and they offer better views.

Just returned from a visit to PCP. With 3 girlfriends in tow we headed to the PCP from the airport . Great flights and staff on our US Airways flights from Vermont. IBK Shuttles provided a private vehicle to shuttle us to our hotel. The round trip price was $70 less than $20 pp and no hassle waiting for others to get on or multiple hotel stops.
The staff at this hotel were the best I have experienced, while not fluent in English it fit with me not being fluent in Spanish and encouraged us to work thru the barrier. obviously to our satisfaction. If you are wound tight and expect no glitches and folks to kiss your behind than this is not the place for you. BUT if you respect folks and want to be treated in a respectful and friendly manner then definitely stay here. Shout out to Kenia, Luisa, Ivan & Percio at the bars. Wait staff Eduardo, Francis & Cecilio are just a few of the amazing staff we met.
Food is not gourmet but is good although the Tex Mex is a hit or miss (maybe different chefs) in either case the whole experience was one we will be repeating.

The best event is the Sat night beach party, if you want to be low key it works,if you want to party just take the shuttle to the Disco and if you want to party with all your new friends that you met there than stay at the Mare Nostrum and relax and visit at the cushioned couches.

One of the best places I have been too, worth the price and the room was comfortable and clean. We will be back with new friends along...thanks to all at PCP rooms Kiki, Robyn, Robin and Renee

Room Tip: 3rd floor rooms have cathedral ceilings any of them should be great

Overall the hotel is not bad. With a few changes it could be great. We stayed in a honeymoon suite and it was OK, slightly better than a regular room. The cost to upgrade was worth it since many extras come with it. Beach is great. Sand is wonderful. Staff is awesome. Very friendly and helpful. Food is not very good. My wife and I have stayed all over the Caribbean and the food here was probably the worst we have had. Some limited food items were good but most so much. The coffee is very good. We ate at every restaurant except the Italian. We also ate at La Cava at the sister hotel which you need to pay extra for but, was included in the honeymoon suite. It was slightly better. I wuold have been upset if I paid $35 per person though. For the money we spent we could have traveled to a very nice all inclusive hotel in Mexico twice. For an all inclusive, tips were expected. Many room service items you had to pay extra for which made no sense to me. The spa is incredible.
