We took the best of nature tour when visiting Grenada from a cruise. Eddie was waiting for us when we arrived in port. Interesting stop at the spice manufacturing plant. The stop at Annandale Falls was lovely, really pretty gardens here. Took a walk in Grand Etang rain forest, it was ok. The island is very pretty. Finally stopped at Grand Anse beach. It was good to have a swim here, but didn't stay for long!

This is the second time i have taken a tour with A&E and on both occasions Eddie was the guide. This time I elected for the half day Spicy Scenes Tour, but as there was only one other couple on the bus we ended up combining two tours for a small additional fee.

Our first stop was for a detailed explanation of the nutmeg tree and its various spices and uses. Next it was to Annadale Falls ($2 entrance fee and not in our original trip). We then went Laura Herb & Spice Garden for a very informative guided tour of the gardens (with lots of tastings) ($2 entrance fee). Off then to Grand Etang rain forest/volcanic lake (this was not on our original tour and $2 entrance fee), where has a short presentation by a local guide about the flora and history of this scenic spot.

Next it was to the Rum Factory and some samples. (I found this the cheapest place to buy some local nutmeg products). Eddie provided water and some snacks here. Off then to Morne Rouge Point for an overlook of the city, and lastly Grand Anse Beach (for a paddle) which is not to be missed, and then back to the ship. We asked to be let off on the way back so that we could walk around The Carenage, which was very interesting and scenic.

Lots packed into a short time - well worth the money.

My husband and I stopped at Grenada for one day with our ship cruise this January. We wanted to make a hike to the Seven Sisters falls without having to worry about transportation, or finding our way around, so I booked with A&E ahead. Our guide, Elan, picked us up at arrival. His father, Dan, drove the bus. Both are very lovely, entertaining and helpful people. We had an awesome time and learned a lot about live on the island. I would definitely book with A&E again and then make it at least a full day tour with our great guides.

Thank you Elan & Dan!

Eddie was on time and there to meet us at the port and took us on a comprehensive tour of the lovely Spice Island. We started with Agnes ( the A in A & E?) giving us a very interesting and comprehensive talk on the many uses for nutmegs including medicinal ones. We toured the Spice gardens, which were lovely and we saw some fascinating plants. But the young girl who took us round recited the facts about each plant parrot fashion and never detoured from her script , so we were in in total brain overload by the end! We visited the rum factory and sampled some of their produce. The rest of the trip became a little vague!!! We finished up at a few scenic spots around Grande Anse which were beautiful. We also spent a short time on the gorgeous bech before returning to the ship. A great and comprehensive tour. Well done Eddie. I can highly recommend A and E Tours.

My wife and I had visited Grenada before and wanted to visit some specific sites we had missed on previous visits. We chose the Best of Nature Tour, which visited Amba-Kaila-Spice manufacturing plant, Annandale waterfalls, Grand Etang rain forest/volcanic lake, Fort Frederick, Clarkes Court Rum Distillery and Grand Anse beach.

Be aware that although the trip was inexpensive, at each venue you have to pay additional National Park fees ($2 each), so this can mount up, but overall it was still cheaper than the ship's tours. Grenada is a lovely island, but it has turned a bit like Jamaica, in that all the locals expect tips for everything, so be warned if you want to take a photo of the girls wearing fruit hats or the divers at the waterfalls.

The tour was well worth the money, although I did think it a little odd why we entered Grand Etang lake without paying entrance fees - until the driver got accosted by security on the way out! The driver made some excuse about losing his ticket and eventually we were let out but it did feel a little dodgy. The rum stop was ok and some samples were available to try (and it was cheap to buy too) but there was no distillery tour which was a little disappointing. Also we were told we only had a short time at the beach as one couple on the tour had to get back early to their ship, so we insisted that we had longer at the beach and he dropped them off and came back for us, which he did.

So, overall not the smoothest running of tours but the sites were great to visit and the overall cost was pretty reasonable.
