Affordable place to stay in Cap-Haïtien, one thing i am gonna mention the receptionists need more training. I would say there were 2 people that treated me great, made me wanna come back again ALEXI and PHILOMENE they know how to treat their customers, I enjoyed the stay because of them.

This hotel is located at a busy street in the heart of it, but has security and a gate. However the guard sleeps on the job so you may get locked out when returning late. Front desk sleeps as well, so it takes honking to get attention. Staff was friendly but not effective and lacked communication . Management was very kind and flexible and speaks perfect English. For a place to sleep, safe and clean this is a great option and I would go back there again. You can have breakfast in the room or balcony and it's included ;) Price was very reasonable.

Hotel Imperial is located just outside of the city center and is priced a little better than some of the bigger downtown hotels. So if you are on a budget, this may be the place for you. They have pretty good food and a newly renovated pool.

The building definitely has seen better days. Some rooms leak, and paint and plaster are flaking off. In my room, the bathroom window was only partially screened, and the sink had no hot water (athough the shower was just fine). The room was air conditioned, but the window did not close. Not all electric outlets were live, and the ceiling fan looked like it would hit the floor when I ran it. There was no closet. On the other hand, the internet works well, the breakfast is great, and the bar and restaurant are more than adequate. The price is not bad, although be prepared for a somewhat shabby place.

Room tip: Ask for Room 10 if they fix the bathroom window screen.
