“Don't Worry 'Bout a Thing...”
Reviewed 8 April 2012

My husband and I just returned from our second trip to Couples Tower Isle in two years. When we began planning a second Carribean get away, we contemplated the idea of trying a different resort, but neither of us wanted to stray from CTI. From the minute we walked into the Couples lounge at the Mo Bay airport to the time we said good bye a week later, every one of our needs was met, and met with a smile. I can't begin to say enough good things about this resort. The food is great, the rooms are fantastic, the activities are plentiful, and the staff is amazing. This is truly "all inclusive" - we didn't pay a dime for anything while we were there - including plenty of drinks, scuba diving, Dunn's River Falls, catamaran cruise - it's all included! I could go on and on about the wonderfulness that is Couples Tower Isle, but the best thing you can do is go experience for yourself. You won't regret it, and I can promise you won't have to worry about a thing while you are there.

Room Tip: Our ocean view room overlooked the swim-up bar, so it was a bit noisier than our previous partial oc...

A lovely hotel with extremely helpful staff. Not the cleanest, but certainly not filthy... Will definitely go again, but wait until the UK plains fly into Montego Bay; it's currently a 3 hour transfer from Kingston.

I obsessed with reading these reviews months before we left. We just returned, stayed the first week in April. Met great couples from all around. The staff were outstanding, shout out to Andel and Romaine at the swim up bar. I don't really know if there are words to express how great it was. Service, activities, staff, atmosphere, weather, all AMAZING. All the food was great. Beef and chicken patties.at the pool grill were great and Baysides food was the best thing I've tasted. Can not wait to go back. I do regret not getting private transfer, it can get a little crowded for a two hour drive. Never had a problem with space, and the resort was at its max. Room 4402, could not of been a better location. View of the everything. JUST DO IT! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

Having flown 10 hours from Gatwick to KIngston, 2 and a half hours in Jamaica immigration and then a 2 and a half hour bus ride in a rikkety bus, it was welcoming to arrive at the hotel at 10.00 in the evening. Check in was llittle manic with all the bus passengers trying to check in at the same time. However after having a quick buger, we went to the room. That was our only disappointment as having paid a supplement for a superior ocean view, we found a view of trees and you had to peer around to get a glimse of the ocean. The servise in the hotel was superb and the food in the main buffet dining room was everything that you needed. We dined twice in the Eight Rivers restaurant and the food in there was absoulutely magnificent. The Fillet Mignon was the best I have ever tasted. All the staff at the bars were very friendly and always quick to pour you whatever dring you wanted, all preemium brands.
The free trip to Dunns River falls was excellent but a disappointment was the shopping trip. The local craft stalls were a nightmare with locals actually dragging you into their little shops. Not recommended. Only once did we find a problem with sun beds around the swim up pool, when a typical American was holding 3 beds for his friends. All in all a woderful hotel. We would love to go again, but the distance and the travel is the problem

Room Tip: Avoid the Superior Ocean View

My wife and I visited the resort from 3/24/12 til 3/31. It was one of the best vacations we have had. We booked through Liberty Travel after pricing it on our own and were pleasantly surprised that we saved a few hundred dollars with Liberty (they do volume). We like to do "all-inclusive" as we have found that we end up spending way more than we expect to when we do not. This truly is all inclusive: From a welcome room with drinks at the airport, a shuttle to and from the resort, a live band- champagne welcome, effortless check-in, lovely room (ocean-view) with balcony and gorgeous view, great food (even the buffet), top shelf drinks (even bar in room), beautiful pools and beach with plenty of lounge chairs and floats, all water sports, daily and nightly entertainment, Dunnes River Falls tour, catamaran cruise, au-naturel island option with swim-up pool bar and lunch served, a day visit to Couples San Souci only ten minutes away, wonderful staff, wonderful guests and wonderful weather. All this and more without spending an additional dime unless you decide to discreetly tip someone for good service(which is not required). The only additional money we spent was for some tipping (bring alot of small bills), souveneirs and massages and exfoliation on the last day at their fantastic spa.

Room Tip: Can save a few dollars with "garden view", but "ocean view" worth the extra mone...

My wife and i have just spent 10 days at the Tower Isle 24/3to 3/4.Our first time in Jamacia
and what a choice, after reading some of the comments we were not sure what to expect but we both thought this was a very good hotel
The transfer from airport (Montego Bay) went very well it took 2hrs but did not feel like it on arrival we were met with cold towels and rum punch a very nice touch.
Now the resort cannot really find fault with any of it. We had a ground floor garden room in block 3 close to all facilites, it was quiet and even had parrots close by, the room itself was very clean and comfortable, and spacious plenty of towels every day plus a full fridge of drinks of your choice and I do not mean minatures .
We ate in all the restaurants with 8 Rivers just heading the list but others were well worth a visit with good quality food in all,. one slight disapointment the menu in Veranda Restaurant could be changed every couple of days as no reservations were needed here but the menu did not vary except maybe one sweet, while 8 Rivers & Bayside a booking is required but well worth a visit, the staff in all restaurants are 1st class.
With regards to free trips Dunn River Falls & Catamaran well worth doing but you need to book Catamaran early. Now would we go again Yes, would we reccomend to friends Yes.

Room Tip: Garden Rooms are very nice if you are not worried about Ocean View

I will start by saying overall...we had an excellent, relaxing vacation. The ride to the resort is long but we knew that. Scenic though. Our room was ocean view with a wonderful view of the island. We were in 4312 which i loved ( & will request next time). Sitting on the balcony watching the sun go up/down was just tranquil in itself. Our experience was overall a positive one but i will touch on our likes/dislikes of the resort as tripadvisor is where i always come to find out what folks REALLY think. The rooms were very clean. Our bed was pretty comfortable & there was ample space. The bathrooms is small (no tub) & the only problem we had was that the shower does leak onto the floor no matter where we placed the shower head. Our cleaning personnel were all great & friendly (I wish i remembered their names for a shout-out). Besides a few folks who obviously don't like their job (thats everywhere) - the receptions we received from most staff was wonderful. Most staff are super friendly. The beach is smaller but was clean. The pool area with the swim-up bar seemed to fill faster than the rest but this is the first all inclusive that we did NOT have to be up at 7am to reserve a beach or pool chair. That was a huge plus to us- as we were always able to find a spot somewhere. The beach is a little short but it was enjoyable to us nonetheless. We used the lounge pads to float in the ocean. There is some bar service on the beach. The Veggie bar has excellent smoothies & chips and hummus!

FOOD:
Patio : I have read great reviews & fair reviews about the food! In our opinion the food was OK/fair- good most days. The buffet has an omelet station which we ate at daily. Good smoothies. The buffet overall was fair in our opinion. We tried many things but the only day I was impressed with was the gala buffet that was because there was fresh, delicious sushi & many desserts to try. We have enjoyed better buffets and not so great so we were pretty much 50/50 on the buffet as it is difficult to keep food hot for a while & serve so many folks.
Verandah: When we dined here we found the food to be fair. A lot of folks were waiting for tables so our dinner seemed a little rushed. We were also told by a couple most stuff here was available at the buffet. Our waiter was very nice but our water/bar service person this night was one of the few who didn't care much for her job. One gripe we have was the tables...terrible...you cannot get your feet/legs under the table without hitting your knees/shin- small issue but it hurts to hit your legs everyday at nearly every meal- especially when they are long (lol). Even if they turned them around it would work.
Eight Rivers: We went here lobster night. We had a wonderful dinner. The lobster was great as were our salads. We heard good & bad reviews from others but the night we went we did enjoy the food.
Bayside: Just the ambiance & location was great. We thoroughly enjoyed dining on the ocean. The food was very good as well. Our server was EXCELLENT & very accommodating. Reservations are limited so we were only able to enjoy it once.
-We went shopping downtown which wasn't a big deal- some haggling, a few trinkets to bring home. The hotel gift shop really isn't much more $ at all.
Pool Grill: We ate something here almost daily. We enjoyed the jerk chicken, jerk burgers, snapper sandwiches, and the fries are great. Onion rings- delicious!
We also ordered room service which comes from the pool grill & it was good too.

Watersports:
You have to keep going there daily to try to sign up for cancelled things & they do not call to let you know something is cancelled.
We went on the Cataraman which was a very enjoyable experience! I suggest it to anyone. Fun Fun! Guest services didn't tell us there was .5 hr of swimming included so we didn't know. We had to take a short ride to the pier which was educational.
We finally got to do the glass bottom boat tour after 5 cancellations (due to weather- however a couple visiting from san souci said theirs was only cancelled once)- It was fun. Troy & Roberto were excellent guides educating us on the history, fish, corals, and homes of the rich/famous. They were wonderful.
We did a sailboat ride- which was excellent- try it you'll love it!
We did not visit the island- which looks beautiful as we saw it from our room & during the watersports.
I think the pool/swim up bar should be open past 5/6. A lot of people were sayign that. The main bar was good also. Piano bar was a lot of fun- Pasanga the bartender was excellent & super-friendly to us. I cannot say enough great things about him! He told us about some happenings, tours, the area, etc. Other staff we found to be excellent were Max, Ruel, & Romaine- they stuck out as well for being very kind, accommodating, and friendly. Drinks are good- ask for top shelf if you want it & they will try to accommodate you.
We enjoyed the martini's on the roof & wish they did it more often. The view is great. We would have enjoyed some music at the pools/beach.
We found the entertainment to be lacking. The steel band was excellent. The house fusion band was good as well. We did find some information on the boards to be incorrect. It seems as if we missed out on some things we had no idea were even going on. The only time we saw entertainment staff was when we were out after dinner during shows, etc. They were nice when we saw them. We would have liked a newsletter or flier showing everything happening for the day & exact locations (as i said the board isn't always correct). We just kind of felt we missed out on a lot besides the shows nightly which were always on the board. We were there to relax & that we did but sometimes we like to watch festivities or participate.
There is only 1 ice machine in the hotel i believe. One per floor would be better! You can also ask the bartenders for some ice & can go to pool grill also.
Things to bring: Dollar bills (yes...$), bubba keg or insulated mug for your ice/water etc, sunscreen, lotion, watch, beach bag, sunglasses. If you pack a lot bring some extra hangers. Please feel free to ask me any questions if you like!
Like i said there were a few quirks but overall we had an excellent time & definitely hope to return to a Couples soon.
