We ventured out each day by foot, usually in the general direction of the beach. There is a grocery store just up the street in the same block. We stored our milk and lunches in the refrigerator in our room. The rooms are clean and fresh and well maintained. The area has homeless around but the area is well patrolled frequently. The homeless didn't approach anyone that we saw but kindly waited for others generousity. If you are bothered by that there are mant cabbies outside waiting to be of service to you. We ride the bus to Old San Juan. There is a bus stop just to your right as you leave the lobby to the street.
we saw the pool outside below our room but did not use it. I did not see anyone using the pool but did see a few people lounging around.

We stayed here before going on a cruise.
Our room was nice. It had shampoo, conditioner, mouthwash, lotion, soaps, shower cap, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. There is small empty frig, coffee maker & coffee, etc. our room had a nice desk chair and love seat. The mattress was ok. We stayed here about 5 years ago and it's had a makeover since. In that process they replaced the mattresses and they aren't as comfortable. But they are ok. The shower is ok and towels are fine.

There is a small bistro type cafe for all meals but no alcohol is sold. They have a bigger restaurant but it wasn't open on Easter weekend so no chance for alcohol. There is place down the street called Port of Call. There is a grocery store across the street on the left just a bit down from the hotel and that sales alcohol, soda and other items you may need.

They have wifi in the lobby and Bistro and a couple of computers to check in for flights, etc. There is a very small market to buy small items, an ATM. The pool is small with a few tables and chairs. But is nice.

You can only smoke out front in a small area, but it has benches.

We'd stay here again.

The taxi ride from the airport is about 15 minutes. Pretty close to the curise terminal.

Remember elevators get full around 11 getting ready to leave for cruise

I had used my Marriott points to stay here for 2 nights- which was fine- the location is fine- and we actually took the bus from here to Old San Juan which was really easy! We also dined at a great restaurant about 3 blocks down the street. I would say- if your just looking for a place to crash- it's fine- it's clean and really just a typcial hotel room. My plan was to use my points for 2 nights and then we already had booked a room at the Marriott Stellaris- so it worked out fine. I would not worry about the area-just be smart and don't go walking around at night by yourself- only common sense- regardless of where your travel. Staff was very friendly and were very helpful with suggestions etc.

The actual hotel was clean but the neighborhood was very sketchy ---if its just a quick overnight stay---stay here otherwise find another hotel.

After driving for what seemed like an eternity we arrived at the hotel. You are not allowed to park your own vehicle so you have to use the valet. Fine, whatever. We checked in and there were what seemed like 100 people in the lobby area. Only one elevator in this hotel. Really? Wow, we are fit so we took the stairs to our room.
The room itself was small. That's fine, we didn't plan on spending much time in the room anyway. It was clean and that's all that really mattered to us.
We arrived around dinner time so after we unpacked we looked at the hotel restuarant, it looked ok but we decided to venture out for more variety.
Upon returning after dinner, we checked out the fitness center so we could use it in the morning. OMG, what a joke! One treadmill that did not work and it was located in the smelly, dank basement. That picture of the fitness center on their website... who knows where they got that picutre, it's not the fitness center here. We ended up going for a run outside which was great, over the bridge to the other side of the Luguna Condado which was a nice area.
Even though I am a Marriott rewards member, I would not stay here again. I would stay on the other side of the laguna or stay at the Marriott Isla Verde (not too far away) which we enjoyed.

Room Tip: Get a room on a lower level, chances are you'll be taking the stairs.

This was a pre-cruise stay chosen for its close proximity to the Panamerican Pier. The hotel has been pleasantly renovated and we did not encounter the elevator issues mentioned in other reviews. We arrived at 11pm and were checked-in quickly and without any problems (I called them from the mainland airport before boarding our flight to let them know our ETA). The neighborhood was OK, and I safely walked all the way to the Condado area after sunrise without any crime concerns, as there were cabbies, late night revellers and neighbors already going about their Sunday morning business. I did ask the receptionist where not to walk before leaving the lobby. The breakfast restaurant was nice, but service was slow due to a large group of cruisers who showed up en masse with meal vouchers. Food was good, though. There's a diner down the street with cheaper breakfast fare, as well as a supermarket to get wine bottles for your cruise. We'll stay here again on a future cruise.

Room Tip: The spacious two-room suites have a door between the bedroom and living room that blocks the nearby...
