Absolutely cannot day enough about this beautiful beach. The water was clear and warm and gorgeous. The sand white and soft. No one here. Absolutely awesome!

I'm still dreaming of the varying hues of turquoise and blue of this amazing beach. Bring you sunscreen and snorkel. ditch any expensive gadgets so you don't have to worry about theft,

Don't be scared of the hill to drive down to it. It's totally worth and your car will make it back it up! Breathtaking!!!

A friend and I visited Pata Prieta beach in mid-Feb. There were only 5-10 other people on the beach. Very peaceful and a few shade trees. I tried snorkeling but there wasn't anything to see. This is a beach to relax on and swim a little.

This beach is also called Playa Pata Prieta. The entrance to the water is not steep. Calm water. I tried snorkelling on the left side but didn't see any fish. Nice beach for walking. No public facilities, but some shady trees.

The place is pretty overcrowded, even in the low season. The drive is bumpy and almost impossible for some island cars. When you finally reach the parking area, its probably so crowded it'll be like trying to shove an elephant into a very small box. After you somehow manage to complete parking you walk down to a overcrowded beach with little breeze. Highly reccomend NOT going.

Nice but watch for a drop off right by the life guard station. Plenty of picnic tables and shade. Locals selling their wares along the road.

Vieques has no shortage of great beaches, and Secret Beach is no exception. Great for lazing on the beach and swimming. Snorkeling is just OK.

Pata Prieta, Secret Beach, used to be our favorite beach on Vieques but the last 2 times we were there, wasn't the best. The beach is pretty secluded, down a dirt road, park in a lot, then walk a short distance down a gravel road. It's along a quiet little cove, doesn't get alot of visitors. To the right is a rocky point, good for snorkeling but waves can make it a bit treacherous. There are lots of kairns, artful rock pilings, on the rocks to the right of the beach. Interesting. Fun to do and makes for some great pics. The water is warm here and calmer. My only complaints ; there is usually ALOT of seaweed on the beach here and not alot of trees for shade so bring an umbrella. One time we went, there were a tremendous amount of bees swarming...no wonder the beach was empty! :D Secret Beach is definitely a more natural, rustic beach....but on Vieques, there are definitely prettier beaches in our opinion.
