Followed TripAdvisor reviews to this nice, quaint Italian spot located in the shopping center near the marina. We had very good Caprice Salad and Lasagna.

Glad we stopped in. Menu is not extensive but what we sampled was very good, as was the service.

Thank ILMMCT

They tried to adapt (they say) to the local preferences. Amd the result is something that do not fit on the international standards of an italian restaurant (and expensive)

hi Mr Casanova, nice to hear from you,
i'm trying to understand what you mean...because if i want to improve my restaurant therefore i must understand!
let me break it down in peaces in order to get it right:

Italian name-Check
Italian staff-Check
Italian products-Check (imported directly and exclusively selected from ourselves)
Italian wines-Check (self imported, again from Italy)
Italian dishes served-Check (not the carbonara whit cream, not the bolognese made out of burger, not the spaghetti meatballs, not the chicken parmigiana, no pasta with butter out of the microwave as side-dish on the steak.... that you may find around in other establishments)
pizza with ananas-Check (no no no just kidding, we don't actually serve pizza, no oven)
coffee, Neapolitan blend-Check (also imported under the heavy duty imposition)

all prepared and served from a young Napolitan couple!

i also suppose that during your stay you may have experienced other food on the island, that would give you a hint of what is mostly appreciated here! (creole cuisine, i love it) and compared with what we serve where do you think we: "TRIED TO ADAPT" and who said that??

and please enlighten me about this: INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS OF AN ITALIAN RESTAURANT!
that after 23 years in the business i'm obviously missing it in a place like ours where all we trying to do is to reproduce within details the most un-abused and "typical" dishes

if you add all that, the price is obviously becoming expensive, if you calculate that all those products have to undergo a 8000 kilometer trip from Italy to the Caribbean! and are subject to taxes and duty!

but my bad! maybe your impression of an adaptation is given because we serve (due to my passion) local RHUM in a large selection and well displayed ?!

A Tapas style restaurant, with Italian cuisine. We enjoyed the wine recommended by our server and our tapas plate. My husband had a pasta, which he said was quite good. It might be a little difficult to find this place, because it is set back in a small shopping area by the marina. A good change from our fish and French diet.

After 4 weeks on Island fancied something like home.Went in evening, were told necessary to make reservation.Place was almost empty.Almost complete menu, cured hams , salami ,salads and morzarella .Only thing typical Italien and warm was lasagne bolognese, which was good though.Very extensive wine list, but for me not right setting for 80 to 150 Euro bottle of wine.If you go much cheaper ,selection much smaller. Was offered digestiv at end of meal on the house, found it later on the bill.Unnecessary cheap trick.Would have to think hard about going back.

good evening and thanks for sharing your opinion, and also thanks for reserving- on my advice it is always better.
but i feel it a little bitter and i have to put some points on the i.
typical italian food is also antipasti which are made of cured hams, mozzarella and salami.
we also serve different warm dishes daily made (beside the lasagne we had that night also cannelloni, eggplant parmigiana backed risotto, conchiglioni ripieni, etc.) we serve italian regional food, probably not so mainstream as you define typical.
wine list start from 26euros with a wide range that goes up to 50E (maybe 60/70%of the available bottles), and some special ones, world known, and carefully selected by house and year, to go up to 300E.
you been invited to have a digestive from our home arranged selection or an imported limoncello, but YOU chose a sambuca and we told you that would not be possible to make it on the house and it will cost 5Euros- You accepted so we served it and charged for it.
not a cheap trick and very unfair to suggest a criminal intention! (if in doubt make it notice). i suggest a little more attention by reading the card and listening to the waiter to avoid such misunderstandings.
