Nice location, relaxing on the beach or climb to the top. Best plan is to get a taxi there, as you can spend more time exploring.

While staying at Sandals Grande St. Lucia, my wife and I walked to Pigeon Island. We hiked up both peaks and enjoyed the view and the exercise. Not much to do on the island so unless you enjoy walking and being outdoors, its probably not for you. We loved it.

Daily hikes are available from the Royalton Hotel. A moderate hike with USD 8.00 entrance fee to the park. Old fort is interesting and the views of Rodney Bay are great. A couple of small beaches that we told were good for snorkelling although we had no gear with us and had to give it a miss.

Hiking to the top you will have a great view of Rodney bay and Gros Islet but you won't see the Pitons. The hike is of moderate difficulty in my opinion and had some steep stairs to reach the top. The old fort ruins are very photogenic and you'll learn a little history along the way. I loved the 2 small beaches there, just us and a few locals. And it was a good snorkeling beach as well.
