Our captain of our ship Ms Koningsdam did a fabulous job of cruising the Pitons! We had seen them from afar but felt that we were right beside them cruising in the bay. Beautiful!

This is for those who truly enjoy serious nature hikes. With a guide by your side you will climb a steep rocky mountainside and enjoy the nature that surrounds you. The guides talk just enough to let you know they are there but know when to hold back so you can enjoy the moments. 2 views will take your breath away (literally and figuratively). The challenge is going back down, would recommend a walking stick if you are not an experienced hiker. Please give yourself plenty of time to go up and down since it’s easily 3-4hours to complete (maybe less for experienced hikers)and bring water. Although we brought 4 children along who did amazingly well, this hike is best for teenagers and adults in good health. Best time to go is early daybreak before it gets too hot. Climb up, enjoy the view and at the end of it all you will look up and say, I did it.

Had the opportunity to see the Pitons from various viewing points. They can not be missed! It was interesting to discover the mountains are 1.5 miles apart . Beautiful views.

Was on our bucket list and certainly checked off as worthwhile doing. We are hikers so we did appreciate all that it entailed, it was strenuous but doable however we did see some people who looked fit but only made it to the first rest spot. Our guide, Chad was really pleasant and chatty he also maintained the pace which seemed to be so that you could enjoy your climb rather than just scaling up. There are guide rails and seating areas on the way up (or down) so you can either catch the views or catch your breath. The average duration seems to be 2hours up/2 hours down with a bit of time to rest and enjoy the climb. Early morning departure recommended. The summit is a bit smaller than expected but the views are huge and stunning. You also have to get lucky with the weather and it was a good day for us but may be a bit tricky if its raining. As Caricom citizens there is also a different park fee. All hikers must have a guide and if you are experienced it seems unnecessary especially as the trail is reasonably obvious but this provides employment for the people of the village along with the little souvenir shop which also sells amazing homemade ice-cream. Just do it!

Tricky to get to and very winding roads but well worth the visit as they are stunning. The best views are if you approach by boat.
