We tried; but could not find anything of interest worth buying. Visit was not worth the time spent...nough said!.

If you're looking for little non locally made souvenirs this is your place. They have the same items as other markets in a tourist town but with St Lucia on them instead of town of your choice. If you're looking for truly St Lucian art or made products you have to look elsewhere. Head to Soufriere or Chasoul for true St Lucia art.

Can get some decent finds here for souvenirs, but unfortunately there are some scam artists roaming around, trying to get a quick buck. Some items are overpriced, and some locals will lie and tell you they work at your resort and ask for tips. Meh. I prefer the straw market in Nassau.

Was staying at St. James Morgan Bay resort. Took the local transportation bus to the market. It was a cinch! Cost $1.75 CDN each one way...taxi would have cost $25.00 USD one way! Bus was very easy...bus 1 A...bus stop right outside of resort. Market was very authentic. Got lots of spices at reasonable prices, a nice Caribbean outfit for our grandson for a good price and other souvenirs. Most of the vendors are willing to badger...those who aren't...look for another. Highly recommended!

Castries Market is an absolute dump. It is dirty and it stinks'!!!! The stall holders try to rip you off and then you get hassled by the bums . Don't waste your time or money
