This is a great place to go to see the local markets and to walk the streets of Castries and see the cruise ships docking. Many local spices and handmade jewelry were available. People were friendly, I recommend a map if you want to adventurous.

We have been to St. Lucia before but I don't remember having a good look at the market. It is right on the waterfront by the cruise ship terminal and is in several building. There is a great variety of things to see and buy if you wish. The locals are friendly and the prices are quite good . Worth a visit.

able to get some supplies close by rather than taking a taxi to larger grocery store proximity to our unit made this a favorable place to shop

We hit this market right about closing on our last day there. Our driver Nickey took us to buy souvenirs. We got jewelry, spices, vanilla, carvings and more for such reasonable prices. We talking them down for the very first item, after that, we got excellent prices. They jewelry vendor even threw in a few free items for my daughters. Wonderful women, no pressure!

The food/spice vendors are great, although they all sell the exact same thing. It becomes redundant quickly. The booths that sell trinkets are all pretty worthless. Just a bunch of junky stuff, like cheap key chains, fridge magnets, etc. You can walk through the whole thing in an hour. The lady that cut open the coconut for us was fabulous. You need to do that while you're there.
