Villa Beach Cottages

My wife and I stayed nearly a week at Villa Beach Cottages. The room was on the south side on the bottom floor. It was very quiet and peaceful.

The location is right on the beach. My wife and I opened the window to hear the waves all night long which we found restful and delightful.

The swimming at the beach was fine except there had been a hurricane and heavy rains which had washed a small amount of debris in the water but everyone said that it was very unusual and I expect that the swimming is great there now. The pool is rather small and more for cooling off than swimming.

Unfortunately there is no restaurant on the premise but there is a small place next door. The food was nothing special. However the owner, who is absolutely fantastic, will provide not only a map of the island and point out all the places of interest, but also a list of the best restaurants and the most delicious dishes served there.

The room was very clean and comfortable. We had a kitchen with everything, including a blender. The bedroom faced the ocean and had a nice balcony in front of the pool and the ocean.

From the Villa Beach Cottages you can get to all the places of interest on the island, although we found it more convenient to stay in the south of the island for part of our visit. I believe that the owner is also opening up a hotel in the south.

The hotel also has high speed internet, a small store, and excellent massage service. The staff will also arrange for tours anywhere in the island.

If you're looking for a luxurious hotel with fancy restaurants, entertainment and room service then this is not the best place, however if you’re looking for a comfortable, quiet place right by the sea with a very nice and helpful staff then I recommend the Villa Beach Cottages.

The staff, and indeed all St. Lucians could not do enough to help us. I have stayed in very large chain hotels in major cities and they could learn much about concierge service from this team. We elected to NOT rent a car so the hotel arranged taxis for us to and from the airport and to several fine eating spots - Coal Pot, Pink Plantation, and Chart house restaurants as well as to get groceries and pretty much everything else. It was a net cost-savings and no messing around driving.
The property itself is secure, safe, and on a wonderful beach you could almost jump to from your room. With just over 20 rooms it is QUIET and restful. My only small criticism is that there is no restaurant on-site.
The owner Colin is a bright, engaging chap and if I was going to make one suggestion to you Colin it would be to provide a for fee Sundowner bar service for guests (only) and also a for-fee dining/transport package to include discounts the hotel could pre-arrange with selected local fine restaurants AND also a for fee delivery service for groceries. Although we did see the sites Soufriere, Castries, Pigeon Island, the Pitons, Rodney Bay and Zip-lining my favorite activity was being at the hotel.

This was my first trip down South in over 20 years, and it exceeded my expectations. We were very well received by the staff at VBC, and the briefing provided by Colin (our host) helped us to choose what to do, see, and where to eat on this gorgeous island. We can't say enough about the people of St. Lucia - in our two weeks there we did not have a single negative experience!!
We felt very safe at VBC (thanks to my man Saaby, Austin and Steve), and had no problems taking the bus to Castries and Rodney Bay to tour the various sights and shops. Swimming in the ocean outside our front door was a real treat.
Thanks again to my front desk gals Olivia, Nadia, Neva, and thanks to all the cleaning and maintenance staff at VBC.
Moses, you are the first cab driver I ever hugged, and that's saying a LOT! We are already looking forward to our next visit, and plan on staying longer because 2 weeks was definitely not enough!

My wife and I just returned from a wonderful vacation at VBC. We can not say enough good things about the people working here and through out the island. We traveled with two other couples on Westjet. Very smooth flight and quick through the airport.
We arrived on a Sunday and our taxi driver Moses was waiting for us. He gave us a very informative 75 minute ride to the resort.
This vacation was so different from our usual all inclusive type and we were not sure how we would like it but it was fantastic. The property is as discussed elsewhere. We felt so relaxed and comfortable from the first moment.
The grocery store was a ten minute walk towards Castries. It is small but had a good selection. Prices were inline with home. Beer, wine and liquor were available.
A bus to Rodney Bay cost $2:00ecd where you could find anything you like.
We took two day trips. One organized by the hotel was the Aerial Tram/ Zip line through the rain forest. A half day of fun. The staff are incredible. The other was from a young man on the Beach with Julian Boat tours. An all day boat tour to the south with a short snorkel stop, visit to Diamond waterfall, mudbath and lunch at a private home. All along the boat ride Julian pointed out areas of interest.
We enjoyed the sunset each evening and watched the cruise ships coming and going.
We will be recommending this resort to our friends and are planning our return.
A very big Thank You to all the staff for making our vacation so fantastic.
Ward and Jeannine

If you appreciate true beachfront location and local guides, Villa Beach is perfect for you. For the independent traveler who enjoys the flexibility of having an apartment style room and rental car connection to do all the exploring on your own as well as on-site concierges to arrange for your every need for tours, taxis, dining, etc. St. Lucia offers island adventure, history, and natural wonders, as well as Caribbean hospitality and friendly, welcoming people. Colin, the owner, can suggest many ways to experience everything St. Lucia offers, and the wonderful office staff of ladies arrange all. A high point was our island tour by Claudius, who took us to a lovely botanical garden, the drive-in volcano and sulphur springs, a tour of La Dauphine's cocoa plantation, lunch at Dasheene (not to be missed---open air view of the Pitons) and snorkeling at Jalousie Bay. We also enjoyed ziplining in the rain forest another day and a snorkel trip to Petit Piton and Ti Kaye. Dining in nearby Rodney Bay is excellent---we went to Buzz twice---excellent cuisine, and also enjoyed the Coal Pot in Castries. The personal touch offered at Villa Beach is hard to beat---you can arrange a car rental from Austin, and Claudius can taxi you anywhere as well as provide an all-day tour. Theresa can provide an excellent massage in the gazebo on the beach for 30 minutes or an hour---highly recommended and very reasonable. The flexibility and custom service is what makes this resort so special---they are a family operation, and that makes all the difference.

My wife and I very much enjoyed our stay at the Villa Beach Resort. The owner is a very interesting man who welcomes his guests as his family. The staff was super helpful and friendly.

We had the south most room facing the ocean. We opened the window all night to better hear the pounding of the sea.

The room is spacious and clean and there is good Internet access.

These rooms are air conditioned and comfortable.

The location is close to many interesting places via a short taxi ride.

Unfortunately the hotel has no restaurant however there is a wide variety of restaurants nearby within a 10-20 minute taxi ride. The owner is very helpful and will not only recommend restaurants but will also recommend specialties at each place.

The beach is nice but not as nice as the beaches in the southern part of the island. There had been a huge hurricane about a month before we arrived and there was still a lot of debris and trees being washed into the sea nearby. However that was an exceptional occurrence and the beach and the water should be very nice for swimming.

The hotel is also quiet. We did not get any road noise or any noise from places nearby.

We had a pleasant stay, the staff was very kind and helpful, and it was very relaxing. The owner brought to our attention many places for excursion and we did the zip lining which was fun.

My wife also had a relaxing massage in the room which is available by a trained masseuse.

I recommend this hotel if you are looking for a friendly and relaxing place to stay and you are not seeking nightlight, a wide variety of services and restaurants, etc.
