This is one of the nicest private villas I have ever seen. No need to rent a room at Sandals when you could stay in this beautiful home. There are multiple villas to rent, so whether you have a big group or just a couple, there is an appropriate option for you. The open-air kitchen and living room are lovely. The beds are comfortable. The pool is wonderful. The views of the ocean and sunset (at least in March/April) are incredible! The hosts were very friendly, accommodating, and helpful. They gave me an "insider's" tour of some of the best local beaches, restaurants and markets on the island. I would absolutely recommend this villa to anyone thinking of visiting St. Lucia!

“Perfect secluded villa with a beautiful view”
Reviewed January 14, 2017 for a stay in January 2017

I just returned from 8 nights in paradise. The villa is everything I hoped it would be and more. It's beautifully decorated, comfortable, quiet, and has a wonderful view. Some improvements were made to the property in the past year, including an expansion of the deck which overlooks the Caribbean Sea. Overall, the villa is so comfortable and relaxing that it was hard to leave it to explore the island.

The main villa has three good sized bedrooms, each with en-suite shower rooms and air conditioning. For larger parties there is an additional cottage on the property with a full kitchen, sitting room, and two further bedrooms. The pool at the main villa is a lovely square-shaped infinity plunge pool which is lovely and refreshing. The pool has good privacy. The kitchen has a large fridge/freezer, coffee maker, blender, gas stove and oven, a huge amount of counter space, and all the cooking equipment needed. Please note the kitchen is not well stocked with basics, so you will need to bring or buy everything, including salt and cooking oil (same goes for showers - no shampoo or soap is provided).

The villa has a fantastic driver on call for short trips or day tours - whatever you need. His name is Bigg Runner, and he's a really great guy who will be happy take you wherever you need to go. The villa provides a small mobile phone for use while you're there, so it's easy to contact him for rides. Bigg Runner took us on a day tour of the island, did airport transfers, and took us to the Friday Fish Fry at Anse La Raye. He also showed us around Castries, and was there to help with our big grocery shop on the first day to stock up the villa. Castries is also easily accessible by local bus, or by walking approximately 30 minutes each way.

La Toc beach (where Sandals is) is a short walk away from the villa. Also nearby is Bagshaws studios, where they have a boutique of their screen printed materials and souvenirs.

The villa has a housekeeper on site named Janice. She's lovely and friendly, and keeps the place tidy from 9-5 6 days a week, unless you ask her not to come. She's very discreet and quiet.

I really can't say enough about this lovely villa. It's well located, well equipped and beautiful. What more could you ask for?

“Private and serene while remaining convenient to local beaches and attractions”
Reviewed November 25, 2015 for a stay in November 2015

My husband and I loved our stay at Barefoot Beach Villa, previously known as Wild Serenity Villa. Would rate it 5 stars except for some minor details which will be described below.

The villa is spacious, and would comfortably fit 6-8 people, but also has a cottage next door which brings the total accommodation up to 12 (but I think it would feel crowded with so many).

View:
Beautiful view of the sea from the kitchen, dining room, and living area. Unfortunately, no view from the pool due due to palm trees obscuring the sea. View of the pool from the bedroom we chose, with a door onto the pool patio (we kept it closed due to bugs). In the cottage one of the bedrooms has a sea view.

Bedroom/bathroom: Bed was a bit firm and squeaky, not as comfortable as our bed at home but also didn't cause any back or neck pain. The sheets needed updating, as the elastic was so loose they kept sliding off the bed; we'd wake up in the middle of the night to re-make the bed. The en-suite bathroom is open to the outside, so we were careful to keep the door completely closed so that the mosquitoes wouldn't come in. Nice rain-shower head. Fresh towels everyday.

Kitchen:
Gourmet kitchen with gas range, induction range, dishwasher, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, full-sized fridge. Unfortunately the oven would not go up past 250 degrees, so our breadfruit couldn't be fully baked and we ended up throwing it away. Some of the pots and pans were still dirty in the shelves, with stuck-on sauce or pasta. The knives weren't very sharp so we ended up using our camping knife part of the time. Otherwise, was a beautiful kitchen. Large dining room table that can comfortably seat 10. 3 bar stools on the patio.

Privacy and safety:
Very good. On Bagshaws Road, near where the Governor of the Island lives, and a police academy. Despite neighbors, felt private. The owner of the villa lives downstairs, but was unobtrusive. The gardener and housekeeper were easily available while maintaining a low profile. Never felt unsafe although we made sure to close and lock all doors and windows at night per recommendation of the housekeeper.

Pool:
Large plunge pool that had enough space for some swimming. Kept clean. Temperature was nice and warm; we floated in the pool to star gaze at night.

Beach access:
The property is on a small cliff above a cove, with steps to the cove. There are ruins of a gazebo which give great sunset views. Unfortunately storm damage has washed away most of the beach (compared with old pictures we saw) but we still had a good time climbing amongst the rocks and tide pools. I think the cove is the small snorkeling cove advertised in the villa description, but we couldn't find a safe entry point to snorkel (too many rocks w/shallow water). In the end, we walked to La Toc and swam over to the cove in deeper water. 10-15 minute walk to La Toc beach, the location of Sandals. The walk is on the cliff past other villa properties and through Bagshaws souvenir shop; part of the path was washed out and muddy, so we had to be careful not to slip. The people working at Bagshaws are friendly and didn't mind us walking through, and didn't give us pressure to purchase items from them. La Toc beach has powdery golden sand. Beautiful snorkeling near the remains of the dock, but due to moderate currents and surf, would classify as intermediate to advanced snorkeling.

Other amenities:
A/C in bedrooms. En-suite bathroom in most of the bedrooms. TV available although we did not use it. Great birdwatching from the porch.

Overall: Highly recommend this rental. It wasn't 100% perfect, but close enough!

Hi Janet, thanks for your very detailed and thorough review! I think you've covered just about every detail there is! We're happy you enjoyed your stay here though and that you'd "highly recommend it!" That's great.

As for your constructive criticisms, we do appreciate and take those seriously, so we'll replace whatever bed sheets might need to be replaced and make sure kitchen utensils/pots are in good condition.

The Barefoot Beach Villa is not advertised as having a grand ocean view as its focal point - although as you noticed, from some areas YES there is a nice view. The main focal point here I would say is the quiet privacy and gardens of the villa. The landscaping is impeccably maintained, with lush tropical plants all around. So you really feel like you're tucked away and hidden with lots of privacy. Which is a nice feeling for a small group or big.

We're happy you found your way to the La Toc Beach too, which is very expansive and beautiful. The cover you visited does change often since it's much smaller.

All in all, happy to hear you had such a great stay, and we'd be happy to welcome you back one day with all those minor details taken care of! All the best :)

“Beautiful pool, open and airy and close to the beach.”
Reviewed June 3, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

The villa is large and open. We loved having the option walking out to the pool or down to the beach. The location is a bit of a challenge if you don't have a car - 30 minute walk into town. Janice, the housekeeper and Big Runna, our driver were great. The kitchen isn't stocked with any basic ingredients which is a challenge for cooking. Overall we had a beautiful stay.

“Wonderful, relaxing villa”
Reviewed February 13, 2015 for a stay in January 2015

Barefoot Beach villa was outstanding. In all our years of Caribbean vacations this was the best. Barefoot Beach has a great gourmet kitchen, very nice, large bedrooms and bathrooms and a large pool deck area. The ability to open the hurricane shutters in the lounging area and kitchen gives Barefoot Beach a feeling of being on a porch overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The housekeeper met us on arrival to give us an orientation to the villa. She returned at 9:00 a.m. every morning (except Sunday). Since there was just the two of us she had time to help prepare our breakfast and she cleared and washed the dishes before attending to her duties. When we returned each evening we found our previous day's clothes laundered and folded neatly on our bed. She even stopped on her way in one morning to pick up some groceries for us.
We made arrangements for a chef to come in two evenings to prepare dinner. We were fortunate enough to have the villa owner, a renown chef and owner of the Coal Pot restaurant, come up from his home right below us and prepare us two wonderful meals. Chef was a gracious host and shared with us his travels leading him to St Lucia. The portion of our trip that kept this trip from being perfect is the booking company, OasisMarigot, screwed up our confirmed rental car arrangements leaving us without a vehicle until Monday after our Saturday afternoon arrival and also failed to pass along our meal preferences to chef. The saving grace was, even though my companion doesn't really care for fish, chef's preparation of the dorado was so good she really enjoyed her entre and along with all the accompaniments including the bananas flambé chef prepared to round out our last dinner. This is a great place to completely unwind and relax. Make sure to visit Marigot Bay, the beach bars at Rodney Bay (Spinnakers was our favorite) and the street "jump up" at Gros Inlet on Friday night.

We'd like to say thank you for your appreciation of this beautiful property and the chef's impeccable culinary skills! Saying this was "your best Caribbean vacation" definitely says a lot about your stay with Oasis Marigot. We did speak to you about this - and just to recap for other travelers who may read this - you had asked for a meal to be prepared for you upon your arrival by the chef, with the specific request of "no fish". Although we accept that it's ultimately our responsibility in the end, we do have records that we passed your request (two times) to the chef prior to your arrival. For some reason this is not what the chef prepared though, and we apologize for that inconvenience (but it's at least comforting to hear your wife still enjoyed the meal!). We did exactly as we normally do for this type of request - we sent two messages to the chef about your meal requirements. So although you unfortunately make it out to be the contrary, there was really no error on our end - which we would just like to once again clarify with you. And for the second meal the chef did ensure to serve your exact request (with no fish). All in all, we're sorry for the inconvenience but feel it was a fair mistake that was then resolved with you.

In regards to the rental car, this was once again an error by a 3rd party. The rental company was a day late in bringing you the car, despite arrangements we made with the company to bring it the day of your arrival. As you saw, the rental company sent you a personal apology for this inconvenience, admitting it was their mistake and even refunded you a total of $100 on the car.

We just wanted to clear those two things up in case there was still a confusion there, but in the end we're happy you had a very enjoyable and relaxing vacation with Oasis Marigot in St. Lucia. Thanks for sharing your feedback here. All the best in your future travels!

10 of us stayed here for our sons wedding, the happy couple, 2 sets of parents and 4 of their young friends. The holiday was perfect in every way, good bedroom configuration, we used the cottage as well, villa was very roomy with plenty of seating areas, so it never felt crowded.
It has it's own beach, great for walking and beach combing, also for watching the sunset. It
was very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Pool and deck area was fab.
Jackie the housekeeper was brilliant and nothing was too much trouble, also David, Big Runna, was always available with his taxi to take us just shopping or day trips round the island.
Awesome Carribean Weddings are just AWESOME!!!!!

Very nice villa , 3 bedroom in the main house all with bathroom and showers inside. The view form the villa is great , all the rooms have a very nice view, the living room and the dinning room is open to the garden and the sea view. All together very comfortable house to stay and 5 minutes from the beach . We had a maid every day that also cooked for us which was very convenient, not too friendly ( it seems it is the attitude there, not many friendly people) but efficient .there is a caban outside which the kids were there and they loved it. All together vey
Ry nice place to stay , just make sure about all the expenses in advance, like the taxi and the cooking expenses. We had a surprise invoices on our last day .
