The most heavenly place to kick back and recover from a bout of that virus that shall remain nameless!

I wept with joy the minute I entered my very own nirvana that is Ginger Lily Villa at Stonefield. It's really all about the view here and the view from my villa was one I wanted to drink in for the rest of my life....the sea, the Piton looming so large and majestic from every angle of my huge veranda....

Everything on the porch was divine and designed to be able to spend as much time outdoors as possible. The 2 rocking chairs, the table and chairs, the huge double hammock from where I watched the sunset for four consecutive evenings and of course the lovely pool and loungers.

Inside is lovely, the bed huge and comfy and no holes in the mosquito net and yes I could see the Piton from my bed! The bathroom was fine and the outdoor shower lovely.

The resort didn't have much of a vibe but I know that was purely down to the situation we find ourselves in in Oct 2020 but they made everything as safe as it can be for visitors and really as all I wanted was sun, sea and sand I got it all and was so happy.

The staff was lovely and super helpful and I took a trip out to see the island from the sea and it was well worth the trip and the $$. the snorkelling was very good lots of beautiful fish to see.

Breakfast was excellent but I was surprised not to be offered fresh pineapple or other freshly squeezed juices...ready made just doesn't cut it at a five star resort. The barbecue / buffet on the Thursday eve didn't work for me as I do not eat meat and there was just one fish dish and also im not a huge eater so have no interest in piling my plate up high with seconds but there was no other option on this eve so i ended up spending around 80 US for a sub standard meal of nothing that I would ever have ordered had a la carte been available but again this may have been due to not being at full capacity during covid times.

The a la carte items that I ordered on subsequent eves were very good except for the deserts....Stonefield you need to hire a proper pastry chef who knows what he is doing and the ice cream was diabolical, icy and no flavour and $14 but really for the staff and the views and the villa I can forgive the food offering not being brilliant.

I cannot wait to return when times are more normal and spend a full week at Stonefield and explore more of the island.

We decided to elope when our original wedding plans were canceled and we couldn’t have be happier. Staff at stonefield really went out of their way to accommodate us. They created a custom package, made a custom cake flavor (lemon with strawberry filling was amazing), brought us a special gift, and really just made everything fun. I decided to do my own hair and makeup so they provided a separate room to get ready. The photographer was impressive as well. We stayed in the jasmine room. The view and pool were perfect. This seems to be the bigger ocean view room with a full kitchen and seating area. If you don’t need all that, I recommend the room across from it instead because the bathroom and kitchen area are open air, meaning bugs get in lol. If you want to make coffee and use the restroom without worrying about bugs (it’s the rainforest), get the room across from jasmine. If you don’t mind bugs and want more space, jasmine is perfect. The bedroom is closed off so no bugs there. We also stayed at sugar beach a few nights. It’s much more expensive there and I thought stonefield was just as nice and we felt like we had the place to ourselves. Sugar beach was crowded.
The food was great, breakfast was included daily, drinks were strong, and staff was friendly.
