My husband and I traveled to St. Lucia and chose Stonefield's for my 30th Birthday celebration trip...if I had to choose one word about this place I would say 'MAGICAL'.
From the moment we landed we were taken care of and that's all because of Stonefield's amazing hospitality. We were picked up by a private transfer that was organized by the resort and the driver was waiting for us with our names on a board, ready to go. We were welcomed with smiles, drinks, cool towel and shown our room quickly (we booked an ocean view villa but got a view of the ocean and the petite piton!) We stayed in Frangipani and WOW, absolutely incredible. Giant pool, spacious porch, comfy romantic bed, large closet and large outdoor shower and everything was very private surrounded by gorgeous plants and flowers. Honestly the pictures on Stonefield's website don't do this place justice because this place is straight out of a dream! There was AC in the bedroom that kept us cool when we needed a break from the heat. The private pool was so refreshing (it isn't heated but with the warm climate here it isn't needed, the sun warms it enough!) and many sunsets were enjoyed on the patio. This resort is surrounded by tropical rainforest and there is some bugs, birds, frogs, little geckos but nothing that was bothersome or out of the ordinary. We enjoyed the breakfast every morning at Mango Tree Restaurant with the gorgeous breeze and views (we especially liked the French toast and Caribbean pancakes). Every morning upon arrival at Mango Tree the staff greeted us and always asked if we needed housekeeping or our pool cleaned and usually by the time we got back to our room we were already serviced!
My husband and I were amazed at how personal the service was at Stonefields. Every time we went to the Mango Tree, went to the reception or were picked up by one of the drivers, the staff always remembered our names or our room name. We booked all our excursions and taxi's directly with Stonefield's and that was so effortless. Highly recommend Tet Paul Nature trail, Private Sunset Cruise, Botanical Gardens and some beach trips to Sugar Beach and Malgretoute Beach during your time in St. Lucia! They give you a personal cell phone (sometimes it had poor reception) to call at anytime you need something and this made communication with Stonefields very easy. We would be at the beach and just use the phone to call and get a shuttle to pick us up, couldn't of asked for a more easy experience!
We also enjoyed a private dinner in our room on night one outside on our private patio which was so special! (special shout out to Danny at Mango Tree, he took great care of us while we were there and we enjoyed many good convos and laughs with him!) Also shout out to Ancia at Mango Tree, she greeted us every morning at breakfast with her smile and always made sure we had what we needed. Another shout out to the many drivers as well, especially Antonio (aka Dumpling), he even sang me happy birthday while driving us to our excursion! I don't remember all there names but I have to say everyone of the staff members we encountered at Stonefield's were so accommodating and made my husband and I feel so welcomed.
A few other things to call out/helpful info for the next visitors:
- There is a safe in the room to lock away personal items was a nice feature. US and UK plugs available
- Sink, mini fridge and some dishware was convenient (there is a small coffee pot but I don't tend to use those when in hotels/resorts)
- We didn't book the all inclusive package but ate almost all meals at Mango Tree. It is a rotating menu so there is a good variety at the restaurant. Food was decent (not the best I've had), but still good. Service is a bit slow here but we were on vacation and didn't mind the slow pace most of the time.
- There was entertainment at the restaurant a few times a week (steel pan (amazing!), saxophonist, live band, rum punch and appetizers one night at sunset) which was all really enjoyable. I would of liked even more little events and activities but what they had while we were there was great
- We ordered a floating tray one afternoon to our room. That was really cool and delicious!
- We forgot pool floats at home but called reception one day and the pool maintenance came and dropped some off for us to use!
- The resort is intimate, quiet and so peaceful. No TV's and just time to be with nature and your loved ones to really decompress and relax.
- Don't forget your sunscreen, bug spray, aloe and motion sickness meds (the roads there are a bit windy!)
Overall, I cannot recommend Stonefield's more. It was one of the best places my husband and I have ever been too (and we travel a lot) and we both agreed we will be returning and telling all our friends and family about it in hopes they will come with us next time!
Thank you Stonefield for the wonderful hospitality and unforgettable birthday trip!!
