Charles and Antonia are so friendly and helpful! This place is on a cocoa plantation but it offers so much more! The pool over looks orange trees which you can pick fruit for yourself! Sitting on the swing in the evening at the great house just watching the fireflies put on a light show is out of this world! You have to get Antonia to cook a local meal with her homemade local juice! What an experience! Many thanks to David the security guard as well who watched out for us while we were walking around! Very nice young man!

Our family of four stayed at La Dauphine for two nights and wish it could have been more! We started in Castries and found this home high above the city of Soufriere to be a lovely retreat. As mentioned in other reviews, the rich greenery and prolific fruit and spices growing on the estate make it even more special. There is WIFI but no TV, making it even more of a peaceful escape. Charles provided a great tour and Al, our taxi driver during our time there, were both terrific. A great day trip to Sugar Beach - lunch on the beach (very expensive for meals and drinks) with a terrific snorkel tour with "CocoPuffs," a lovely member of the hotel dive shop team. Notes: the chairs to the left of the dive shop are free; chairs on the hotel beach are $90 for rental. The hotel will lend/rent life jackets to non-guest kids interested in snorkeling and I highly recommend it as the snorkeling is terrific.

We stayed at La Dauphine Estate for 3 nights as part of the Adventure package booked through Villa Beach Cottages (separate review posted). We were there with another couple and the four of us were fortunate enough to have the whole estate to ourselves! Upon our arrival we were greeted by Antonia, the housekeeper. She had cooked a meal for us (ordered before our arrival) that was delicious and plentiful which we enjoyed on the back patio, listening to the sounds of the rainforest. We stayed in the estate house, relaxing on the wraparound porch or lounging in the infinity pool. There are tropical plants, flowers and fruit trees all around that make you realize you are in a very special place. Charles, the estate manager, gave us a very interesting tour with a history of the estate and how chocolate is made. The whole estate was available for us to explore and we took advantage of this. We hiked up the ridge and went across the road to see where they grow so many beautiful flowers they supply local hotels and restaurants. This was one of most memorable places I have ever stayed. Antonia and Charles were very helpful and made us feel at home in the rainforest!

I have stayed here more than once. this is a very special place. The peace and quiet you get here is unbelievable. There are no tvs. You hear the rustle of trees and rain. The rooms are great. you will need a car but you can easily get one as the owners have a car rental company. The place I would say is the best value for money. If you like to go out and eat and see the sights, most of which are near this property. Don't forget to visit Hotel Chocolat. Did I forget to say that the house is situated on a plantation.. many different fruits and trees all on your doorstep.

Room Tip: There are steps up to a room in the roof. Not suitable for small kids. There are 3 rooms downstairs. .

We had one night here to experience a working plantation and I just wish we had stayed longer here. Swimming in the infinity pool was beautiful just looking up and seeing the rainforest all around. Seeing all the fruits growing on the trees, you felt so close to nature. Was wonderful to meet Charles the estate manager who showed us around and our kids were fascinated by him and how chocolate is made. Antonia was very welcoming and helpful. We would definitely recommend this place and would love to come back.
