We celebrated out 30 year anniversary with a week stay at Simpson Bat resort in August 2022. We were in St Martin for our 10th, staying at Little Divi and vowed to come back. We did on a cruise stop, have been to other islands, and just getting back for this overdue visit. We chose Simpson for the location from the airport, and what seemed to be a lot of choices for restaurants and entertainment in the area. We had another couple with us at Simpson and family staying at Oyster Bay. After taking our family to their resort at Oyster, we arrived at Simpson later than expected. On one hand this was good because there was not much going on in the lobby…bad on the other hand because the desk clerks were checking us in but constantly getting distracted with others asking questions. We booked a 2nd room for our friends via our timeshare, but were in different buildings. Although the desk clerk was busy and distracted, she managed to get us in the side building after some time and effort. Kudos to her. Our one peeve was we did not get a welcome packet about the resort and things to do. We had to call the next day and have something brought up to our room. Minor inconvenience. We got directions to our rooms and headed out. We were extremely impressed with the room. Our one peeve was we did not get a welcome packet about the resort and things to do. We had to call the next day and have something brought up to our room. Minor inconvenience. We got directions to our rooms and headed out. We were extremely impressed with the room. King size bed, large kitchen area, living space, and balcony. It was clean and spacious. We were in the B building, 4th floor for those familiar with the property which overlooks pretty much the entire resort with an awesome view of Simpson Bay. One unfortunate note and probably our bad as well is, our friends staying there are girlfriends of my wife, but just friends, not a couple. Their room was the same as ours and they were not interested in sharing a bed. But fortunately again, the living room area had 2 Murphy beds, which one friend opted to sleep, rather than go back to the front desk in search of a room with 2 beds… which may not have been in our building. It was a long day of travel, we were tired, so they decided to deal with it. Back to the resort, we ate at 3 of the restaurants on the property (Replay which we preferred for lunch and dinner, La Patrona for Breakfast, and Juliette’s Bistro for dinner once and 2 breakfasts. We chose others restaurants off the property for meals rather than Bovin’s. We have a meal at Coco’s bar and met the famous Ziggy. He is a real character and a very pleasant guy. I do hope anyone reading this gets to meet him. We were satisfied with the meals we had at the SB restaurants. If you don’t rent a vehicle, be prepared for a lot of walking up and down hills depending on where your room is located. We fortunately rented a van and were around the resort with no issue, but there is a shuttle service. We enjoyed the beach, and the pool. There were not as many people at the resort due to the island getting into the slower season which could be a benefit in some areas. Depends on your liking. There was some nightlife happening but more so off the resort. Great stay and I would highly recommend Simpson BayMore
