First, if you are a serious snorkeler looking to spend some quality time in the water seeing lots of different fish, etc., this is NOT for you. The trip takes you out near the barrier reef where the current is VERY strong. My wife and I have been strong snorkelers with our own equipment for over 18 years and we could barely make headway against the current. I think they choose this area so the guide can find conch for the beach lunch, but while we were there for at least 20-30 minutes, my daughter (15 year old) quit after five minutes, and my wife gave up after 15. I stuck it out the whole time but by the time I got to boat ( going back with the current was trickier than I expected and I overshot the boat by going too wide), I was exhausted. I would NOT recommend this trip for anyone who isn't a strong swimmer without other gear, let alone with good snorkel gear.

That said, those were the only negative points. Everything else rocked solidly. The Captain 'Pop' and First Mate 'DJ' were good communicators, took care of a vastly wide-ranging level of demographic and experienced level passengers, made us all feel safe, and got us to and from our destinations with professionalism, courtesy, humor and expertise.

The beach lunch was great, got to see how to remove and clean a conch. Walked around a 'deserted' island seeing 'rock iguanas' and at one point, my wife, daughter and I had a pristine, almost endless beach, to ourselves as the rest of the passengers either didn't explore or went in different directions.

Lastly, while it wasn't exactly top shelf in the adult beverage department, it was plentiful and easily accessible if you wanted it.

In summary: if they had been able to taken us to a snorkel area with less current, this would be a 5/5 but I have to give it 4/5

We had the misfortune of taking this trip the day after a storm so the visibility in the water for snorkeling was non-existent. This really affected the quality of our cruise, which was not the company's fault, but it was definitely a bummer for our group of eight, and it extra disappointing for the kids (ages 4 and 7), who were dying to use the water slide but couldn't.

Quick rundown of our half-day trip: We started the morning with a shell collecting stop just outside of the marina, but TBH shells on TCI are not that great. Mostly what we enjoyed was walking along the shoreline and looking at the amazing aqua water. Next we went to Iguana Island, which was my favorite stop. Walking through the weirdly squishy sand in calf-deep water was somehow magical, and the wandering iguanas were fun for the kids to see. Then we motored over to a nearby island to check out the underwater visibility, but it just wasn't good thanks the storm the day before, and the kids weren't able to swim because of the current. Next we went out to the open sea and encountered Jojo the dolphin, who played around the boat for a couple minutes. Then we turned around and headed back to the marina, and that was the end of the trip.

We had our beach lunch on the Iguana Island stop. Pretty sure all of the adults went back for seconds (and maybe thirds, and fourths) of the conch salad, and the fresh fish and lobster were both excellent. Sandwiches and chips were available for the kids. Rum punch is not my thing, but my husband and father-in-law were both happy to chug away.

Overall the trip was an enjoyable morning out of the hotel, and I'm glad I went so I could see some of the other islands next to Providenciales. Turks and Caicos is such a beautiful place that none of these businesses have to work that hard to showcase the islands, but at the end of the day I just didn't feel like this private trip was really tailored to our specific group's needs. I would have appreciated a little more accommodation of the fact we had smaller children along.

TL; DR If I were going to do the trip again, I wouldn't book as a private trip. Taking a cheaper route and going with another group would be fine. OR I wouldn't take younger children along who really need the calmer water to have a good time.

We rented a private half day snorkeling excursion charter for 8 people, four adults and four kids. We had Captain Pop and First Mate DJ. Other the scenic beauty, it was actually a very disappointing trip and questionable whether it was even remotely worth the amount we paid.

Initially, both were nice enough. When we got to the snorkeling site, we discovered they did not have enough fins for the kids. The whole point of the trip was to have the kids snorkel and now we were left with one child not having fins. The only options were to have one child with no fins or going all the way back to port, which would have wasted a good amount of time.

Then, we received minimal instructions on how to snorkel. There were two adults who were not strong swimmers. All they did was tie a life preserver around their waist and told them to jump in.

DJ was supposed to help, which he did, but stayed with one of the kids and then decided to get out. Because of the fin issue, we asked him to go in again with a child who did not have fins. When we asked him again, he fussed about already having cleaned up and then mouthed off at the child about the fact that he had to snorkel and put his head in the water or he would otherwise not take him. Not very friendly.

We specifically wanted a half day charter to get more attention because our group had some non-swimmers and kids. We got none of it and barely any instruction on how to snorkel. Also, how about some real snorkeling vests versus some make shift floater from a life vest.

We stopped at Half Moon Bay which was beautiful and had lunch which was nice.

Then, to get back to our hotel, they drove us to the beach near the resort and we had to get off the boat, in roughish kind of waves. They took each of the kids but the adults had to basically get out themselves. If the timing was off, we definitely would have gotten smacked by the boat in the wave. Dangerous.

Overall, the beauty of the scenery made the trip good enough and the kids were oblivious to all of the issues. I would definitely ask more questions the next time before booking this charter.

We (a family of four) have just returned from the most amazing half day trip with Caicos Dreams. The pick up from the hotel was on time and they promptly drove us to our departure point where everything was well organised. As soon as we embarked upon our boat trip we were given an introduction and a safety briefing. We were then informed about the itinerary of the trip. After about a twenty minute trip out to sea, where we were also privileged to meet JoJo the dolphin, we reached the point for snorkeling. None of us in our family had ever been before and the staff could not have been any more helpful or supportive. We all ended up going in and seeing the wonderful fish yet never felt abandoned or scared of this new experience. I in particular clung very tightly to a great staff member called J-J. He was absolutely great and gave me the confidence to swim and snorkel independently and enjoy these wonderful seas. After about 50 minutes of snorkeling we were then transported to Half Moon Bay. Unfortunately on the way, my daughter felt a little sea sick and they were so kind, with one staff member (Jeremy) coming over to rub her back and pour cold water on her. Luckily she soon recovered when we landed on the beach. We all ate our delicious picnic lunch (provided) and then got to see how conch was caught and prepared. We then spent about another 45 minutes exploring this wonderful cay, seeing iguanas close up and bathing in the most wonderful shallow turquoise waters. Our trip back was a great party and our youngest daughter whose birthday it was, danced the whole trip back with the staff all making an effort to make her feel it was one big party for her. An absolutely wonderful day. Thank you
