Night Snorkel
Reviewed 27 March 2017

The guide was a passionate marine biologist. His knowledge of marine life was awesome! It is different at night because it is harder to focus on fish because of limited light but you do see quite a lot. Just in shorter bursts. But we were lucky enough to see a large sting ray and that was amazing to see in the light of a flash light. Also saw the bioluminescence which my daughters liked.

My wife booked this night snorkel for us when we were in St. Thomas. We really had no idea what to expect and I was a little skeptical that it would be fun.

It was great! Ian was nice and knowledgeable about the different things we saw. Equipment was very good. We saw octopi, lobsters, crab, many species of fish and a huge eagle ray that must have been 6 feet wide.

I'd definitely recommend this trip.

Went to St Thomas for two weeks in Nov.2012 . Met with Ian at the resort we were staying at. We schedule a night snorkel for later that week at hull bay. We drove there during the day so we could find the place and it is a nice beach mostly visited by locals, with a nice little restaurant in front that does great fish tacos. My husband and I are both accomplished swimmers and have night snorkeled before. As we had our own equipment and transportation we got a great deal. We were the only people to sigh up that night so we had Ian all to ourselves. He was great pointing out all sorts of marine life that only come out at night and explaining different behaviors of the fish at night. The bioluminescent was good the night we went as there was not much of a moon and all the little copepods swimming in front of the lights were great to see. Recommend this trip to anyone who likes to snorkel.

Unique opportunity. Fun guides. Location is far from most everything, which is a downfall. The roads on St. Thomas are rough and getting to Hull Bay is no exception. Saw octopus, sea turtle, lobster, and a variety of fish. Bioluminescence is fantastic.

We went in a small group. We had a guide and two couples (hadn't met them before we went). It was nice to see lobster and octopi, but it wasn't great dealing with a bunch of people crowded into parts of the reef to get a glimpse of these creatures. You're talking belly scraper if anyone screws up. I'd do it again, but only on our own.
