Our stay here was the perfect combination of fabulous location, lovely beach, crystal clear blue ocean, and a superb on site restaurant with stellar views! (Blue Sail) The staff at this resort were wonderful! When my friend was having trouble with a flight reservation (she extended her stay two days because she did not want to leave!) they went above and beyond to help her! The resort was peaceful and relaxing.. it was not noisy or overrun even with the start of summer holidays! Was an unforgettable retreat and we would not want to stay anywhere else whilst visiting Nassau!!

We booked online site unseen and were slightly apprehensive. That concern was quickly resolved as soon as we checked into the resort. It is a smaller, quite resort far away from the craziness of the downtown area. We were met and literally hugged by Lady Sarah at the time of check in. Made to feel welcome as soon as we set foot on site. Desiree and LuAnn are great and always there to help. Sit in on the info meeting, it is NOT a sales meeting, but a very informative quick meeting (15 minutes) to get you familiar with the area.

Bus stop right our front, $1.25 to ride anywhere. (bring exact change). The bus ride is interesting and cheap, air conditioned and never felt unsafe. Resort also has a dedicated cab Greg was great! Most places are about a $25 ride. Close to the airport and is about 15 minute cab ride.

We got a two bedroom suite looking over the waterway with beautiful water and views. Plenty of room, very clean and a fully appointed kitchen. Full side fridge and stove, oven, microwave, coffee pot. Floors are all white tile, which is very clean and keeps the place nice and cool. There are individual air conditioning units in each room and they keep the rooms very cool. (Tip, they are in celsius, a google search can convert). Room are plenty big, shower is small, but very nice. Large whirlpool tub in the unit as well. Nice screened porch with chairs and a table)

The front desk is open 24/7 and has things to use at no charge (balls, snorkeling gear et al). Also that is where the daily beach towel exchange is located. Front desk folks are very helpful and have great tips and suggestions to better your stay. (Tip, the water is a bit salty, suggest bottled. Buy a six or 12 pack from the store, save the bottles then buy gallon jugs from the front desk for $2 and refill the bottles). There is a grocery store within a mile or so, but groceries are very expensive. There is also a liquor store in the same lot, but is also very costly. (a case of beer and a case of Truley drinks was $130).

The beach is stunning and private. Many days we were the only the only ones on the beach. Chairs and umbrellas are there for use as needed. (use the umbrella, the sun is intense). Crystal clear water, white beach and some reefs our front where you can snorkel. No reason to travel to any other beach when this is right onsite.

There are 4 or 5 restaurants on site, ranging from burgers to regular nice dinner. We ate at several, but usually ended up at the bar at the Blue Sail to eat with amazing views, cool breezes and coolest bartender on the island, Donald. Full bar, full dinner menu and a nice wine selection. (Tip. get fresh conch salad from the pool bar made while you wait. Conchs are cracked and freshly made conch salad while you wait. Amazing). My daughter was thrilled as the drinking age is 18.

We ventured out to the straw market (hot, crowded and in my opinion not worth going). Went to the Fish Fry area and I highly recommend. Very local NOT fancy and probably 50 small shack, restaurants to eat local food. We settled on Curley’s, it was great. Full snapper, three sides for $19. Ended up staying way to late, but had a great time. About a $25 cab ride). Went snorkeling at Stuarts Cove, highly recommend. Reefs, fish and swimming with sharks. The best thing we did was the trip to the Exuma keys with Powerboat Adventures. If you only do one thing, go to Exuma. Words cannot describe, just go.

If you are looking for a Atlantis type experience, DON'T come to this resort. If you are looking for a beautiful, clean, quiet resort with a fantastic staff, Sandyport is where you want to stay. We will be back. when we arrived, Lady Sara told us to relax and get into the spirit of the island....we did. Cannot wait to return.

Beautiful resort with a friendly atmosphere. The location is perfect to use public transportation. Beaches are clean and have a restaurant on site making it so convenient for dinner. Love the hammocks all over the resort. The staff is so helpful. The rooms are clean and they took us to get grocery. Perfect family vacation. We had a great time.

This was our 4th trip to Nassau and the Sandyport Resort is definitely our new favorite location. It's a quiet place with everything you could possibly want in a resort. It's within walking distance of several restaurants and even a market. Baha Mar is a very short drive as well. We will be there again next year!
