This was my first time to the Bahamas, and I found about this hotel from Trip Advisor, so writing a review to pay it forward! After a lot of back and forth about staying at a resort like Baha Mar, we decided we aren't "reosrt people" and chose this colorful place. From the photo online, I reserved elevated hut #115. I was a little disappointed when we were handed the keys to room #113 (as the folks in 115 extended their stay) BUT that was quickly washed away when we arrived in our little purple-roofed hut. It is the closest to the beach- and let me tell you, this is literally a PRIVATE BEACH! I have never been to a private beach before, and I counted a family of 5 as the most crowded I saw it. Absolutely breath taking! The sound of the ocean is so loud and relaxing that I could not hear any other guests. It is truly the most relaxing vacation I have maybe ever had! If you are not a "resort person" and want a place that has unbeatable oceanfront views and no children, Compass Point is a must. I am already thinking about when my next vacation is to come back to #113! The pool area is nice and again so relaxing. They even brought us drinks out to where we were sitting. The restaurant is good and they have over 200 drinks! We barely made a dent- all delicious. Every staff member was so kind and friendly, and they helped us a lot with calling for taxi service when it was past the jitney time. Cheryl was the sweetest driver! Other times we rode the jitney which is a fun and easy experience. Bring cash and plenty of ones for your trip, as you will need $3 per couple per ride, and cash for taxis at other times (it was about $15 to nearby restaurants, and $20 to the airport). We had a blast with Stuart Cove's diving (another perk about Compass Point? Stuart Cove will provide transportation both ways, and you are the first/last stop at this resort! The Atlantis people had a bus ride longer than an hour!) We also did a day trip to Exumas and saw the pigs with Harbour Safaris and it was a lot of fun! Nearby good restaurants included Sapodilla (they provided us with transportation!), Blue Sail, Aquafire (walking distance), Nirvana Beach Bar (walk down the beach), and the Poop Deck. It was a blast and highly recommend this gem of a resort! All the locals we met talked about how they loved coming there to party but we were always too tired to enjoy any of the live music.
