We went to the Ocean Club after a friend told us such great things. We booked our first visit 8 years ago or so and have made a return visit at least 1-3 times per year after that very first time. We cannot rave more to our friends and family than we already do....so why not to Tripadvisor. In the Caribbean, there are plenty of resorts, most all look at the beautiful blue/green waters and have palm trees. However, what the Ocean Club brings to it is a sense of family. We go back because of the island and the staff are so welcoming. Over the years, we watched our kids grow up at the resort, learning to swim, learn and love a different culture and just have fun.

When your plane lands, Terrence is there to greet you and make your way out of the airport (as well as your return trip back to the airport) as smooth as can be. It is so refreshing to know that when you arrive at that front door you will be greeted by the biggest smiles of David, Roy, Lamart, Dawson, Eduardo and all the rest (sorry for not mentioning everyone). The ladies at the reception desks are so happy to welcome you to the hotel.....we spend some time catching up on their families. The rooms are always spotless. One thing we have noticed over the years is that they UPDATE their rooms, bathrooms, facilities. We have seen many changes and improvements over the years.

Our daughter loved Kids Only. Now that she is becoming a teenager, I don't know what she will do....I'm sure she will still go and help where she can. Elcie, Michael and Paige have always cared for our daughter like their own.

The Spa is beautiful. If you can, have a couple's massage. The massage rooms are partial open-aired and are beautiful. It is soooo relaxing.

Whether you go to the pool or the beach, you won't be disappointed. The staff is always there to help you....visit Quinn, Andrew or Chavez at the pool....or go to the beach and see all the guys that will always be eager to set up your chair. Once they know what you like, each day "your" chair will be in its spot....while you are at it, have monique bring you a coconut bay breeze (sooooo goood - like a frozen mojito with coconut rum).

The food, you can't beat it. Whether you eat at Dune or at the Terrace Restaurant, you will not be disappointed. Start it or finish the night off with a drink at the bar.....It's a terrific end to our night when Bruce or Henry is tending to the bar and catching us up on their lives (or us telling them about ours).

I can't overlook the fact that at the Ocean Club, each room is assigned a butler. Over the years, we have had the pleasure of having Prince as our butler. Not only is Prince attentive throughout our stay at the Ocean Club, he also checks up on us throughout the year. That is terrific service - just checking in with us to see how we are doing. Your butlers are there to help you in any way you can. We always joke that Prince knows what we want before we know we want it.

We have loved every single minute in the Bahamas. The Bahamian people just want you to love their island like they do. The staff is so happy to share this with you if you let them. We have gone bowling with some of the staff quite a few times. What great memories we have made as well as great great friends - for life.

We could go on and on about our love for this place. In the end, we always return to what feels like home filled with family.....we miss them all already!

Give them a try!

I have stayed at many One & Only resorts, and this hotel sadly brought me down a bit. When I stayed at the One and Only in Palmilla the service was much better. I expected something a little bit more special from this hotel chain. The Bahamas is one of my favorite places to go and I probably would not stay at the One & Only here again when I visit in April. I absolutely loved the Reethi Rah resort in the maldives, so if your looking for the perfect "One & Only" get away, the maldives is the way to go. Over all the location of this hotel was perfect and the kids loved everything about the kids club.

After having been to the One and Only Palmilla in Mexico we were so excited to be vacationing at One and Only Ocean Club. However, upon check in our room was not ready. We were eventually given our key, but no tour of the facility or introduction to our butler. As a matter of fact we NEVER met a butler. Even after requesting the name(s) of he or she from the women at the front desks, we not only felt like we were bothering them, but not once was a butler produced. To make matters worse the other couples we were their with had attentive butler service who check in on them, they were left signature baseball caps as well as bath salts. The only thing we did receive was our champagne and strawberries each night. The bed was noisy, lumpy and uncomfortable. The food was good but other than just a few employees the service was slow and unfriendly. We practically had to beg for a drink the first day at the pool. By the last day a wonderful employee, Andrew along with a female employee was happy to help us with a smile and great sense of humor. All in all NOT worth the price and will NOT recommend to anyone nor do we plan to return ourselves.

We had stayed at the One and Only for our wedding and were completely blown away with the service. My husband and I came from staying at the Cove and although very different, both stood apart with its unique touches.

Good
• Room was delightfully decorated, stayed in the Crescent wing.
• Great balcony overlooking the ocean, picturesque to have a great breakfast.
• Peaceful and quiet, during our photos on the beach we always felt secluded and
private.
• The simple touches such as welcome basket, turn down service and champagne each
night was a nice touch.
• Fast and efficient in room dinning was great, pricey but expected at the Ocean Club
• Shuttle service to and from Atlantis was very convenient. Drivers were very pleasant
and even remembered our names.
• Always beach chairs available and the pool never seemed packed with people.

Great

• The butler service was FANTASTIC!!! Thank you to Lawrence and Prince! I cannot
rave enough on how my wedding day was flawless thanks to these two gentlemen. The
did everything from working out cake details, lugged my heavy dress, remembering all
the things that I forgot and best of all, helping me make it to the alter ON TIME! Thank
you.
• The food at the Dune was amazing. Everything from breakfast (which was enough for
two) and the amazing lamb dinner was a delight.
• The grounds are spectacular. It is well maintained particularly the Versailles Garden
and the Cloisters. My visit was in October shortly after the hurricane.
• Anytime we saw a staff member, from housekeeping to the front desk staff, they that
were very warm, welcoming and extremely friendly.
• The hotel Manager, Alex was also on-site just after checking. He was warm, polite and
very courteous. He really put an effort to make our wedding and stay blissful.
• Will prepare shuttle for you before you upon check out to the airport.

Tips
• If you want peace and quiet you have come to the right place. It is still a short shuttle
away from other great dining options at Atlantis. If you want night life then head to the
Cove
• You also have access to the Atlantis grounds; however, the spa at the Ocean Club is
far superior.
• I highly recommend looking at a day trip to Rose Island or day excursion near Exuma as
the water is pristine in the out islands.
• The Ocean Club is expensive so expect high prices and come prepared.
• Eat some local food and find out when they have Junkanoo at the Atlantis Marina.

Enjoy the clean, quite resort with their attentive staff and wonderful Management!

We are just leaving after a 4 night stay in a beach front room. We had great service and the food at Dune was the best. I didn't have the same experience others mentioned such as the thin walls or poor service. We received first class spa treatments that I would put at the top of my list. The only issue we ran into was the reception desk at the spa. They seemed to be under staffed and didn't return phone calls. However, we went through our butler and had not trouble. Our butler was great and stopped by several times a day to see if we needed anything. I have stayed at Atlantis, the Cove, and the service was horrible not to mention that place is a zoo. We went over to gamble one night and we were so glad to get back to the One and Only. I would highly recommend the resort.

Room Tip: We loved our beach front room. We were disappointed they didn't have a suite but the room was v...

Transfer from airport to hotel was smooth, but upon arrival at hotel we had to wait 20 minutes to be seen by check-in staff. Since room wasn't ready, we were offered a complimentary lunch poolside. We took advantage of a summer promotion and stayed in a Hartford Wing/Oceanfront room. Bedroom and bathroom were small, patio had pleasant view, but uncomfortably hot. Butler service was a joke, she disappeared after first day, but reappeared when checking out; looking for a tip for non-extisent service, perhaps? For example, butler asked what fruit we wanted, but failed to deliver; same tired fruit left during 5 day visit. Be aware that complimentary strawberries and champagne will be left only if you happen to be in room when it is delivered. Beach-beautiful turquoise water, long enough for a nice walk, but lacked depth, which meant that your chair was uncomfortably close to other guests' chairs, lacked privacy. Service on beach was poor-no beach towels at 10:00am, staff huddled under umbrella and socialized with each other rather than tend to guests. Also, beach chairs offered limited protection from sun, no umbrellas. Food was usually good, yet pricey; however, service was inconsistent and often slow, had to wait too long for to be served coffee, breakfast pastries were amazing; beachside dinner-service very poor when busy, entree actually cold one evening. Hotel offered complimentary car service to Atlantis, which was great when leaving O&O, but return trip often required long wait. Be prepared for frigid temperatures at Atlantis restaurants. Grounds and public spaces at O&O were lovely, but poor service and lack of shade on beach will cause us to vacation elsewhere.
Other resorts we stayed at-Jumby Bay, Curtain Bluff, Jamaica Inn.

We stayed at the Ocean Club in an Ocean view room for 3 nights after a week at the Cove and it was AWFUL. The only thing that the O&O has going for it is the property, which is gorgeous but that was not enough to make up for the lack of sleep.

The walls are EXTREMELY thin. You can hear EVERYTHING in the rooms next door, including the TV. But what was the WORST was the fire drills that took place in the morning and throughout the day. We paid nearly a grand a night and thin walls plus fire drills are just unacceptable. For much less money, you can stay at an AMAZING room at the Cove

The service was also poor. The word "no" was said more times than necessary for small requests and the Butler, he was nice but useless. Did absolutely nothing for us. The concierge at the Cove was ten times better.

There is nothing worst than thin walls that make it difficult to sleep when there are kids up and screaming in the room next door at 8am.

The only reason why the hotel deserves 2 versus 1 star is because after we complained, the manager offered us some concessions.

I love the Atlantis and will return soon but we'll be staying at the Cove and not the O&O

We are sorry that your time at One&Only Ocean Club did not meet your expectations but appreciate your kind words about our sister resort The Cove. We are always seeking to improve our guest experience and your honest feedback is of the utmost importance. I can assure you that we have addressed many of the issues that you outlined in your review since your visit. As you might know, One&Only Ocean Club is celebrating our 50th Anniversary this year and we are proud to say that many of our hotel rooms are part of the original hotel structure. As you can understand, while we embrace the historic character of our resort it can present challenges that we have been addressing through targeted renovations and upgrades. We hope to someday welcome you back to One&Only Ocean Club so you might experience our new room product that offers the same luxury of The Cove while preserving the integrity of our iconic property.
