I spent a week on Cat Island Bahamas. Stayed at Orange Creek Inn and was pleasantly surprised. The accommodations were very clean and functional. Due to the time of the year, most of the places were closed but I found most of what I needed from the local store which is located below the Hotel. Internet access was also available which was very nice.
The beach and channel outside the hotel made swimming and snorkeling very convenient. Hope to be back next year.
Thanks Sherrie for all your help in arranging guide, car and pickup from and to the Hotel.

Robert.

Room Tip: Top floor center overlooking the ocean.

I love this place! My boyfriend and I stayed at OrangeCreek Inn for 5 days and 4 nights. When we arrived at Cat Island, Shree was waiting for us at the airport to take us to Orange Creek which was only about 5-7 minutes away from the Arthur's town Airport. We arrived on a Saturday which was there day of rest, and the food store which is located right below the Inn is closed. However, Shree made sure we got the things we needed by opening the store just for us. After we settled in, Shree took us to a local restaurant so that we can get some food, and the food was excellent. Shree also made sure we got or rental car on the day we wanted. The room is a really nice size and the ceilings are high just how I like it. We did not have to use the A/C because the breeze was just that wonderful. I went to Cat Island to relax and enjoy the island not to stay locked up in a room looking at the walls. Orange Creek Inn is for individuals looking to relax and enjoy the beautiful island of Cat Island and the price is really good too.

I've been to a lot of places in the Caribbean and our holiday at the Orange Creek on Cat Island was definitely a stand out. The hotel offered everything we could ask for - spacious, clean rooms with the kitchen inside, great service, TV, AC, wi-fi. There's a grocery/convenience store downstairs and a beer/liquor store within a five minute walk. Right across the street is a gorgeous ocean beach and the creek where you can enjoy pristine turquoise water. It is pretty shallow though, so if you're in the mood for a serious swim and water activities, it is best to rent a car and within 10-15 minutes of driving you'll find more amazing, empty beaches. There's really no way of "talking it up " too much. It is just great. And the family who run the hotel are super nice and friendly, they will gladly offer advice and help with anything you might need there. You won't be disappointed. Enjoy!

That's what we (the BF & I) received at Orange Creek Inn. I couldn't have been happier in my wildest dreams (and I do have some wild dreams) to be met at the airport by my Aries sister Sherrie with a hug that could warm the coldest days I have recently spent in Wisconsin these past 2 winters. We had 1 request before we arrived at OCI & that was to stop for our long awaited Kalik's to watch out first sunset on Cat Island. This of course was no problem for Sherrie and after 2 cold ones for us for the drive and a case to go we were on our way in no time at all. We arrived to the most beautiful view & a room so clean we knew we had made the best choice for our first visit.
The Inn is very comfortable & we felt so at home right from the start. There is a grocery store on sight so there are no "worries" that you hear from others to the out-islands of being without food, you can find what you need to make a simple but satisfying meal your first night after a long travel day. To wake up to the view of Orange Creek in the morning is what I've waited 2 years for and I was not disappointed, it is beyond beautiful. During our stay we were treated as family, not only by Sherrie, Ms. Margaret & the rest of the family ( Hi Dad & Grandma) but, by all of the people who live in the area of the Inn. The local guys & gals & especially the children will be forever in my heart as the most welcoming I have ever had the pleasure to meet on a daily basis. I can't say enough about my stay on Cat Island at this most wonderful place for being able to relax, chill or be surrounded by people who feel like family but, who also are so aware to know when you just want to look at the beauty around you (they know you don't have this back home) and be silent to drink it all in.
To sum it up for me personally, don't expect to be treated like the King or Queen, you are not, this is not the place for it. If you want to be treated like family, friend or even just a traveler, this is the place. I felt like all of the above at one time or another without expecting to feel that way but, knowing that I would.
The Inn has kayaks & bicycles to rent for those who enjoy staying active & seating areas facing the beautiful ocean/creek views for those who like to just look at the beauty of it all.

If anyone has any questions please feel free to PM me.

Loved my stay here, I really don't think I would have changed anything and I've had a few days to think about it.

Much LOVE to my OCI Family for a wonderful visit to their
(my) home. D & M XXXOOO

Room Tip: for water views request it, had a 1st floor room and was fine

My family and I went to Cat Island for Spring Break this year and decided to stay at Orange Creek Inn. The rooms include a air conditioning and a kitchenette and were very clean and comfortable. Sherrie and her family were very helpful and friendly. Sherrie arranged for car rental, bike rental, and kayak usage. There is a grocery store in the hotel, and a laundromat in back, which was very convenient. Views on the Caribbean Sea were beautiful and there was a small beach to the left and huge beach across the creek. The islanders were very nice and the food was great too. Be sure to eat at nearby Da Smoke Pot in Arthurs Town! You can kayak fish in the creek and catch Barracuda, Bonefish, and Jacks. We loved snorkeling, fishing, biking, swimming, hiking, and tanning. The weather was perfect everyday, 80 degrees and sunny, but when we got back to Minnesota there was snow and we immediately wished we were back at the island. Cat Island was the perfect family island and Orange Creek Inn was the best place to stay for it. We were very happy and would recommend this to anyone!

Room Tip: Ocean side rooms have great views and cool breeze.
