We celebrated our thrid wedding anniversary at Emerald Bay. The resort is beautiful. We upgraded to a Villa which opened on to the beach and had buttler service. Anthony and Keisha were amazing. All activities were planned before we came, bar was stocked with what we wanted. We like having cocktail hour at 6pm. Promptly at 6 we'd received a martini a piece with a cheese/fruit tray.

The beach is a great place to go for a early morning run. The ocean, aquamarine, plenty to do with all the water activities provided by the hotel. We thought the food at most restuarants excellent. Our only disagreement was about the Drunken Duck. The food was good; but I felt it feel flat compared to the other restuarants. Dino's pizzaria, outstanding, and I generally don't eat pizza--went there at least 5 times.

The only negative I have is the bugs. We weren't bothered by them at all until Saturday night. It had rained Saturday morning, so maybe that's what brought the bugs out Sat. night. We were playing chess outside and I felt like I was getting bit. We left Sunday to return home and I noticed several bites on my arms. By the time we landed in Atlanta, the bites had spread to my legs. Monday I ended up in my dermatologist's office and am still taking medication for what is known as the "no-see-um" bug bites. Somewhat of a pain; but overall we really enjoyed the vacation.

Room Tip: The villa's away from the main pool are the place to be if you really like quiteness.

This resort is beautiful! The staff are friendly and welcoming, the service is excellent. We went for our honeymoon in September 2012. The resort is not a party place but still fun. We had a wonderful time. The beach is stunning - there are not words to describe how amazing the beach is. The weather was also perfect so that is a bonus.
We have always done all inclusive in Mexico in the past. The best of Mexico doesn't even compare. Exuma is safer, more friendly and more sanitary. The Airport leaves you wondering and the drive to the resort is full of broken down buildings and unsightly closed businesses etc. The resort is a diamond in the rough.
The food was great for two pick eaters with food allergies. We had no problems getting good, fresh food. The staff all take care and pride in their work and it shows. There is even a fabulous French cafe on the resort that make great espressos and amazing pastries.
The general consensus is this is a honeymoon spot. The pool, pub and main areas are fun, great mix of people without large groups partying too much or obnoxious kids or overindulged drinkers. The Entertainment staff keep things fun with various activities and shows.
The golf course is well maintained and a stunning back drop. You've got to really be on your game though there are some narrow holes not forgiving to those with a slight left draw or right Shank :P
I would go back in a minute and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Room Tip: Rooms on the beach are pricy but for a big occasion worth it. The butlers are helpful but only if you actually use them. DONT tip the butlers until the last day as they wont come back if you tip right away. Go for upper floor if getting a beach front room as the lower are great but loud. The beach and property is so nice you wont be in your room much.

We stayed at Emerald Bay for 2 weeks [12 -26th Sept] it was our 10th Sandals holiday so we have visited or stayed at virtually all of their resorts. We didn't find the food up to the standard of most of the other resorts, it was far too repetitive for a 2 week stay and we suggested providing more 'daily specials'. We were often told the tables in the two main restaurants were fully booked but Sonia always managed to get us in. The food in the buffet was poor in the evenings but very good for breakfast. We didn't want the option of eating in the Drunken Duck pub for dinner as we can do that at home but realise it does appeal to American tourists.
We spent most days at the quiet pool and really enjoyed the tranquillity, good bar service, plenty of sunbeds and shade. The beach is beautiful but would be better if the seaweed was cleared. The gardens are lovely and constantly maintained.
We had a lovely room which we were upgraded to without request. Although this resort has a lot of minor problems the staff go out of their way to put it right.
We had some great evenings in the piano bar thanks to Heston, Ramon and all the bar staff. Loved the Lionel Ritchie songs!!
We will be back.

The resort is beyond beautiful. Rooms are stunning. The grounds are gorgeous.

Food ranges from very good to fair. The French and Italian restaurants are wonderful. Service is generally OK.

Now the drinks. I cannot believe that this supposedly is a "luxury" resort does not serve brand-name beer--anywhere! The type of liquor available depends on the bar. This is totally inexcusable. We paid top dollar for this vacation and expected a choice of top-shelf drinks. This is a deal breaker. We'll have to look for a real "luxury" resort next year.

We just returned from a great vacation at Sandals Emerald Bay. The accomodations were wonderful, the food was excellent, with the exception of the Barefoot by the Sea restaurant, which was good, but not quite up to the standards in the rest of the resort. We had the butler service and had one excellent butler and one good butler. The sea was beautiful and warm. If you are going in Sept. use the bug spray they give you, as the sand flies do bite. I would also recommend a higher room if you want to leave your windows open, as they get in and some people were bitten really bad. We golfed three time, and were very happy with the course and the service. Keep in mind that they say golf is free, but rental clubs are $60/person and it is mandatory to take a cart $40.00. We brought our clubs for a airline fee of $20. They store them at the course so you don't have to haul them back and forth. We had never stayed at a Sandals resort and our travel agent suggested this one. A wonderful choice!
