“A peaceful retreat”
Reviewed March 19, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

We have stayed in this cottage 5 times and will come back year after year. It is a home from home, warm and cosy and fully equipped for a couple or large family. It is ideal for dog walkers as the garden is fully enclosed. There are sheep and ponies in the adjacent fields.

The beach ride is excellent, all the girls are friendly and the horses well cared for. Speak to Gemma on your arrival.

Breath taking views are minutes away from this cottage. 5 minutes drive from fairbourne beach, which is deep and long. We downloaded the tidal app for this beach (79p) and its an amazing view as far as Barmouth. It is a very rocky beach when the tide is in, there is no tacky seaside stalls which we love about this beach. There is a charge in the carpark 4 hours £1 but if you park at the other end of the beach its free.

The post office has a bakery and grocery shop. The shop next door owned by the nice older couple sells a lot more but we found most of their food to be short dated or out of date.

Only downfall is there is no wifi and limited phone service on O2 within the cottage but Gemma informed us she is working on this.

“fantastic holiday in beautiful setting”
Reviewed October 4, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

If you want a nice peaceful setting for your holiday then this is the place for you. Within one mile of the beach which is fantastic at low tide, you will need a car, although you could walk in. Would estimate that the train station is about 1.5 miles away so that would be good also.
As for the barn conversion then well it can not be faulted, set is such scenic surroundings you will find it hard to find a better place for your holiday. I shall be booking my hols there again without a doubt. Please visit as you will not be disappointed i assure you.

“2 night family stay, lovely location”
Reviewed April 18, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

The property is one of a small number of cottages let by the owners at the top of a small hill. There is ample off road parking and the view out of the windows and front door are of the hillside and horses etc. The outdoor seating area is situated in the same spot and is great for el fresco dining (we used a disposable bbq)

The equestrian centre is situated at the foot of the hill and offer a number of activities including beach rides or longer rides out to Cregennan Lakes.

The cottage is spacious and has pretty much anything you would require for a short or long term stay. The kitchen is very well equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, cafetiere for us coffee lovers etc. 3 nice sized and decorated rooms ideal for large groups or families, our daughter loved having two single beds in her own room! Overall great facilities for cooking and relaxing.

The property is very well located overlooking Barmouth and the Mawddach Estuary and is just a 2 minute drive from Fairbourne, convenient to do your grocery and toiletry shopping. It is a short drive to the bridge which allows you to cross over the estuary and the road to Barmouth or Bala etc. (70p each crossing) Dolgellau is only a short drive away as is Towyn which has a nice beach and lovely shops + a quaint old school type of cinema.

We had a good stay and have recommended it to a few friends and family based on the locality, prices and amenities. We would recommend a bike ride or walk over the estuary bridge situated at Arthog train station which leads to Barmouth. The Mawddach Trail is also located here and offers a 6 mile ride to a nice pub with beautiful views of the estuary or the full 8 miles into Dolgellau. It's a flat and easy ride designed for any competent and fit-ish riders. We did the full 16 miles and my wife never rides a bike and she managed ok.
