I really enjoyed the underground tour, even after 3 visits. The tour guides are always hilarious. And the rest of the museum is very much worth seeing.

We do not live very far away from Blaenavon and have always thought about visiting Big Pit but never got around to it. I wish we had visited sooner! We have had a really enjoyable day. The underground tour was really interesting and informative and it was a truly humbling experience. We will be back at half term for another visit. 10/10.

Visited with my partner and children (aged 11 and 6) on a Saturday of a bank holiday weekend.
This meant we had to queue for around 45 minutes to get on the underground tour but once down it was definitely worth it.
This place is amazing and the tour is made immeasurably better by the fact that the "tour guides" being ex miners who are extremely knowledgeable about the mine and mining processes.
The other exhibits and buildings are all really interesting and child friendly.
To top it of its all free with parking being £3 for the day.
Well worth a visit.

Knowing that it was the Easter weekend, we got here just before 10.00 to avoid the queues. We didn`t have to wait long at all, and were shortly met by a group of miners who equipped us with hard hats and safety equipment, before our guide took us down into the mine. Our guide was very knowledgeable and made it a very interesting tour. There are some low ceilings in the mine, but we didn`t feel at all claustrophobic like I thought we would. There is plenty to look round after the trip down the mine, and also a small cafe. Would definitely recommend, especially as there is no entrance fee!

We visited on Easter Sunday and everything was great! The location has a lot of history, lots of things to see and everything was just as it was years ago, and the staff were excellent. Well recommended! Will definitely visit again.
