I had the amazing opportunity to stay at The Rock house 🏡 the owners are so gracious and welcoming and what to say about the staff so friendly and made my stay so enjoyable.

The restaurant at The Rock House is the best on Harbour Island.

Im already sad to leave and anxious to come back.

If you come to Harbour Island you must stay and dine here is like heaven.

We stayed for five nights in their Commodore Suite during December and will definitely not return under any circumstances. The list of griefs is long but above all nobody from the management / hotel owner ever stopped by to ask us if we were enjoying our stay which to say the least is unusual in a boutique type hotel with a total of 9 rooms. Some of the problems we experienced are listed as follows : no assistance with getting up the staircase from Bay Street to the hotel and afterwards to our room on the second floor upon checking in. Staff were by the staircase up to the hotel from Bay Street and offered no assistance and just looked on.!! The continental breakfast which is included in the room rate was really poor , honestly all one expects is a decent coffee , some croissants and fresh orange juice. Even though it is free may we recommend that you walk down the street to Arthurs Bakery then at least you will start off the day in a better manner. On the first day we went to Rock Houses's private beach on Pink Sands beach only to find out there that we needed to take our towels and chair covers from the hotel , but of course nobody had told us about this so back to the hotel we had to go.!! There was not even any fruit in the hotel room which when one is paying over the odds for a suite which leaves much to be desired in terms of the bathroom and its furnishings is quite frankly not acceptable. We even had to ask for additional shampoo and body wash which was not automatically replenished which once again is a first which we had never experienced before anywhere in the world. I know that we are in the Caribbean but honestly the service level just left so much to be desired to the point that even after 4 nights hotel personnel were still asking us in which room we were staying. We could go on and on but to summarise we have one simple recommendation to make and that is to avoid Rock House if possible - it is just not worth what you have to pay. There are not even cushions provided for the chairs by the small pool where breakfast is served and where the bar tables are located in the evening and quite frankly these chairs are not comfortable.!! In addition when one orders a drink at the bar no chips , olives or peanuts are provided which is unusual for a hotel of this standing. The whole experience was to say the least not one to be recommended under any circumstances. Having read many other reviews of this property I am at a complete loss to understand many of these reviews because our experience completely contradicts what other guests have written but I stand by our comments and experience above.

Room tip: The best room is the Commodore Suite which is not worth what Rock House charges.!!

The Rock House... Rockin and Rollin? Just a wee bit over subscribed! The uber cools who's who's hangout ...a street back from the old Harbour and a private alley away from the relative bustle of Dunmore a Town, the Rock Houde has been a popular venue for all,, who can afford the pretentiousness that comes at a price.Whoo hoo see you there...nahxxx

The restaurant is outstanding!! Service and food were both fantastic. This little hotel has so much charm, casual but chic in all the right ways. The view from the restaurant is great and there is a terrific little bar where you can have cocktails around the pool after dinner. This place is one of a kind. Absolutely, do not miss it if you go to Harbour Island! Also, be sure and meet the owners, Don and Matt. They are so friendly and can give you great advice about the island. I wish I could be there right now!!

We have been to the Rock House three times. This is an absolutely beautiful property on a one-of-a kind tropical island. We stayed in the Seahorse Room. Plenty large enough for two of us and has a mud-room/porch, great for sandy shoes and beach bags. Bedding, linens, and towels were 5-star quality. Housekeeping service twice a day was impeccable. The housekeepers are sweet and friendly, especially Jestina, who also owns a restaurant and bar nearby which we always visit. Very nice small pool and many lounge chairs and cabanas to use. This is an adult's only hotel and it is very quiet and tranquil.

Generally, the level of service exceeds any property, including Ritz Carlton and others known for their service excellence. The owner, Don Purdy, is a highly-involved owner/manager who is there every day. He is warm and goes out of his way to get to know each guest. The executive chef, Jenny, learns each guest's culinary preferences and prepares some of the absolute best cuisine on this island which is already full of amazing chefs. Manager Flo greet's each guest by name each morning. The bar staff, Tremmie and Fluffy, are awesome and make great drinks. General Manager Eli is so nice and so helpful to all of the guests.

As I said, another superb experience at the Rock House.

Room tip: Any room is great! The Monkey room is small and only if you're alone or an adult/teen child.

This is one of the best places on the island to get a drink, eat dinner, get a room, go for a swim, etc. Everyone is extremely nice, and the entire place has a cozy feel to it. Be sure you're dressed appropriately if going to dinner here.
