“Afternoon tea at The Grovefield”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 April 2012

Had a lovely afternoon tea last Friday 20th April - had expected it would be the usual cream tea, but we were treated also to a splendid array of the most delicious petit fours in addition to melt-in-the-mouth clotted cream, jam and scones. Too full to eat dinner later. Lovely atmosphere and lovely setting amid the spring flowers. Thank you for a great way to end the week. Sue O'L.

I have visited this hotel on a number of occasions (business functions) over the last couple of months and cannot fault it. I have enjoyed the lunches provided, including the delicious warm freshly baked bread rolls that come with it! The facilities for other meetings I have attended have also been good- the hotel is in excellent decorative order and the function rooms are ideal for meetings. Even for smaller meetings, we have been provided with a very comfortable room and a lovely selection of fresh fruits, pastries, teas and coffee. The hotel grounds are beautiful- all in all, a lovely venue. Aside from business, I have recently tried the Afternoon Tea which is delicious. Teas and coffees are regularly topped up for you, whilst you enjoy the sandwiches, freshly baked scones and vast selection of delicious cakes! A lovely spot in Burnham to call in for tea or coffee with family or friends. Highly recommended.

Visited and stayed for a wedding just the one night. Nice facilities, friendly staff, nice rooms, good food and fairly newly refurbished. Very nice and lovely grounds.

We stayed with friends for our wedding anniversaries, which were both in March.
The Deal was unbelievable.
We each (Couple) had a Classic room which are well furnished, very stylish and tasteful decor. A bottle of prosecco was chilling on the dresser when we checked in.
The 3 course dinner was excellent with 4 or 5 choices for each course. I had lamb noisettes which were beautifully presented and cooked to perfection.
In the morning we had a breakfast menu with choices like eggs benedict, smoked haddock with poached eggs, full English and this was in addition to a buffet of cereals, pastries and fruit. The staff were lovely and all this cost us £100.00 PER COUPLE!! Check out their deals.

I have been to a series of business themed dinners at Grovefield and each one has been superb. I have also visited for Sunday lunch and the experience was just as delightful. The chef and his team never fail to please, carefully researching meals for the international theme of each event. There was one function last summer where they really pushed the boat out, providing singers and dancers in national clothes for the South African brai. Christmas was also a delight with its medaeval theme in fancy dress. The next one I am attending will be Mongolian, I can't think what chef Iman and general manager Emma, will come up with but I am sure it will be a culinary delight as usual. I will recommend this location for a family wedding coming up and hope the bride puts it at the top of her list if she chooses an English hotel instead of going abroad. Well done Grovefield, you deserve heeps of praise.

We would like to thank you all for a lovely stay last Wednesday, 11 April, 2012. The room was excellent and you looked after us very well. The garden was looking splendid with the blossom and spring flowers. It's such a lovely location.

The breakfast was delicious as always.

The hotel is spotlessly clean and well furnished.

We will certainly recommend your hotel.

Thanks again.

Sue G

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the lovely gardens.

As a special treat for our parents who are both disabled (in wheelchairs) my sisters and I,based on recommendations, decided to take our parents out for Sunday lunch at the Grovefield which was not too far for them to travel. There is easy access for wheelchair users together with disabled bathroom facilities.
We were all warmly welcomed by Ian and Lucy where we firstly had a pre-lunch drink and a look at the menus. We all chose different starters (scallops with belly pork, carrot and orange soup and duck and fennel salad) and the same Roast saddle of lamb mains and again different desserts. The food was of a high standard and presently beautifully. We passed our compliments to the chef.
The restaurant is a beaufifully light and bright room with excellent views of the well kept grounds. Our parents loved looking out at the colourful spring gardens and have repeatedly commented on their very special day out.
As a special treat, whether for Sunday lunch or evening meal I would definitely recommend this hotel.
