this was a fun ride that does not take long, when you leave the island there is a little over 50 canadian toll to go back. its a little unnerving at dusk knowing you are in the middle of the ocean on a bridge but better during the day time.

We had come to PEI on the ferry. When leaving by the bridge we paid $50.25. Quite an engineering marvel. We had to contend with some bridge maintenance but it didn't slow us up too much. I enjoyed the experience.

We had been to Prince Edward Island before, but this was our first time taking the bridge. If you’re in a vehicle that’s high enough off the ground, you can take in some great views.

Prior to this bridge being built in the 1990s, you could only take a ferry back and forth to leave PEI. My husband and I drove on here at the end of April. Not great views and not the prettiest bridge, but it got us across. Upon leaving PEI, you need to pay a $50 bridge toll as a punishment for leaving.

I was excited to drive over the Confederation Bridge between New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. A toll of over fifty Canadian dollars ($50.00 Canadian) had to be paid only when a person exited Prince Edward Island; these toll workers had credit card machines for credit card payments. The views of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence were incredible, and it probably took about fifteen (15! minutes of a drive to go from end to end of this bridge. The speed limit was eighty kilometers per hour (80 K.P.H.). I got stuck behind a truck when I exited Prince Edward Island, and there was only a single lane going in each direction. This bridge can be closed down due to inclement weather, so it is smart to check ahead before an individual plans to travel over this bridge.
