Within walking distance of almost everything in Loreto! Just around the block and we were at the Marina and Malecon. There was also a great little beach with palapa's. Just a few blocks to the main square and restaurants and little shops. We were 5 adults......and there was lots of space for everyone. A great kitchen with enough utensils where we prepared quite a few meals....... A large living room and deck. We enjoyed the pool area more then we expected to........it was sheltered and warm on the cooler and windy days .......the pool and grounds were very well cared for. We felt safe and secure within the gates that restricted access. We also appreciated the washer and dryer as we spent 21 days there. Also the garage for the days we rented a car. We loved Loreto and the people ....we explored quite a bit but we're planning to come back and explore some more. A month next time!
We stayed two weeks in Casa Grande and by the time we left, it felt like home. We were with another couple for the first week and the house was perfect for two couples. The two main bedrooms are downstairs and both have full bathrooms attached, for nice privacy. The living area is upstairs with a roomy well- stocked kitchen and a comfy sectional couch to crash on. We like to cook and we had everything we needed. We spent a lot of time on the outside deck, which is also large and overlooks the well-maintained landscaping and the pool. It's an easy walk to the malecon, the beach and to the central square of Loreto. One small downside is that the house is located on a dirt road - it's only about 1 1/2 blocks of dirt, so we didn't find it a problem. We would definately try to rent this again when we come to Loreto.
We booked Casa Grande for a 10 day golf vacation in Loreto. Booking with Barrett was a breeze. Very trustworthy man! He was wonderful in being attentive to all of our questions prior to our arrival, and was absolutely amazing in helping us when we arrived at the property. Casa Grande is located within the Coco Cabanas in Loreto. In this way we were able to use the pools and BBQs within this small, yet very quaint, resort. Don't let the dirt road leading you to the property fool you - when you get inside the gates you are in a clean, well tended, resort which has various two and one bedroom villas available as rentals. The Casa Grande is the largest on the property. There are two master bedrooms on the main level - each with its own full bathroom, air conditioning, TVs and closet space. As we were two couples traveling together this worked out perfectly for us. There is also access to the garage on the main level. In the garage are a washer and dryer for your use - comes in handy if you are doing an extended stay! Up the stairs you enter into the main living space. It is huge! There is a very large kitchen and dining area, a spacious living room, and another sleeping space with twin beds should you need access to a third bedroom. The main floor has air conditioning as well. Off of the living room are the doors leading you to an incredibly oversized patio. LOVED IT! The patio has a built in canopy so you can enjoy the warmth of the day, but sit in shade. There is also enough space to move the table out and enjoy the patio while sitting in the sun. We spent more time on the patio than anywhere else. The main level also has a third bathroom. There is a large TV in the living room and Barrett has quite a collection of movies for optional viewing should you choose. The kitchen is well stocked with any item you might need to cook for yourself. I am sure that others did as we did and left behind any items that they had brought along - from spices, to glasses, to coffee filters. Truly, the space in the Casa is amazing! We were more than comfortable throughout our time there and loved the ability to simply pop down to the pool for a dip when we wanted.
We were very fortunate to meet Barrett upon our arrival as he was at the Cabanas at that time. (Barrett also has some of the 1 and 2 bedroom villas for rent at the Cabanas if this if of interest.) He was such a wonderful host! When we wondered about the best way to travel back and forth to the golf course, he introduced us to Oscar, who met our every driving need while we were there. When we wondered about a day on the sea, he introduced us to Francisco, and we had a fabulous day at sea. When we asked about places for groceries and liquor purchases, he shared where to find the different items - and you do have more than one option for shopping in Loreto. Barrett just helped us with absolutely everything - thanks Barrett, you have no idea the 'value add' that your friendship brought to our vacation. You will also find information in paper form within the Casa that shares much with you related to services you might need and where to find them. He has thought of it all, and is genuine in wanting his guests to have a great experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed all that Loreto had to offer, and we loved the Casa Grande.
We were there with our son;s family including two grandchildren ages 5 and almost-3. The pool, warmed, was a major attraction for the kids. Casa Grande is within easy walking distance of the historic center and lots of good restaurants. We were there during Carnaval so a couple of nights were noisy from the celebration on the malecon, two blocks away by the beach, but normally it was a very quiet neighborhood.
Very nice house, everything super clean and comfortable. Swimming pool fantastic and refreshing. One of my best vacation places.

If you want the whole small town Mexico experience I highly recommend Casa Grande as a place to stay. Don't be put off by the dirt alley you go down to get there. The grounds inside the Coco Cabanas are beautiful. The pools are well maintained and the owners keep one heated for those of us that travel off season. There is just the right amount of sun and shade if sitting by a pool is your thing. The place is very secure even though gates are kept closed but not locked. Loreto is unlike any other Mexican town we've visited. It is clean, the people are friendly, and food is great (whether choosing to eat in or out). However, if you want to eat in bring some basic cooking amenities because the kitchen is basically bare. I travel with my VRBO cooking set so I have no complaints. We rented a car just down the street so the attached garage is a real treat. Hope if you get to Loreto you have the chance to stay in such a beautiful place.
