We have stayed at the Grand Hotel Acapulco many times...this year was the best of all!!! The renovations are wonderful...the staff was the best ever....the food was great.....the weather is guaranteed...the beach and views are spectacular. The restaurant has a new manager, Yuri Roberto who greets and personalizes a fabulous experience...he was our new best friend along with all of the other guests....we ate there every night as we knew nothing could be better. All of the staff were unbelievable....even the security guards couldn't do enough for us...for example: he would get us tables at the beach under our cabana!!! We are well travelled but we continue to go back to Acapulco as there is no place like it any where!!! THANK YOU TO OUR OUR "AWAY FROM HOME FAMILY" AT THE GRAND HOTEL ACAPULCO....we can't wait to see you again.

Room Tip: Any room is a great room - it doesn't get any better

It is very simply, The Grand Hotel, is "home away from home" . We have been going for 16 years and from the moment we arrive the staff who we call our family goes above and beyond. Staring with Miguel-General Manger and Margarita. The executive lounge-Elizabeth and Luis. We have breakfast at La Ceiba every day and they greet you from the moment you walk in. The pool buys look after our safety and all our needs. "El Pescador" the best view of Acapuclo and the Best Food, to mention Estella - the Manager and the waiters who look after us, Augustine/Miguel and Alessandro. The new rooms are amazing, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Believe me you will not be disappointed. Rosa and Joe Garritano, Toronto,Ontario Canada

It is a shame that the press is hurting Acapulco. We have been traveling there for 41 years, (without any incident) staying at the Grand Hotel (formerly Hyatt) for the last 38 years. No other hotel anywhere will you be treated like we have. We are actually given a party (with surprises). The people are warm and caring, and the service is unbeatable. We have been occupying a Suite on the Executive Floor and it is delightful and beautiful. The food at the refurnished Pescador is outstanding, along with their new Manager - Uree. We already booked for next year. This should be telling you something !!!

I stayed here with a bunch of friends. We had a great time. The hotel is a nice place to stay no downtown but in a good enough location that you can take a short cab ride or a walk to local restaurants and nightclubs. THe nightlife in acapulco is phenominal. This coming from a person who is from NYC and knows a thing or 2 about clubs and such. The is the place to be if you are looking for that type of scene. What I loved about this hotel were also the views from the higher floors. They are spectacular. Loved every minute of my week in Acapulco. The hotel food is average but satisfied most of us and I'm a vegetarian. I would recommend venturing out into the downtown area to the restaurants. Once place that must be tried in Spicy restaurant. Great authentic mex.

Room Tip: The higher floors are great for views of the beach and mountains.

I've been going there for almost 40 years when it was the Hyatt chain. The employes are all so nice and willing to help, great service.
I stayed in a remolded room with a spectacular view of the bay. The rooms were beautiful.
Every morning going down for breakfast at "La Ceiba", was a treat where the food was great and the service even better.
Acapulco was business as usual, and I felt very safe and secure. The hotel was 75% full and it was a Monday...
Had a great time, and can't wait to go back...

Room Tip: Ask for the remolded rooms, 18th floor and up.

Old marriot hotel taken up by independent hotel operator. Currently some reconstruction going on.
Restaurant had a breakfast beuffet OK selection but a bit pricy.
Very POOR (slow) internet access even you need to pay separetly.
Good point was the beach was clean and could enjoy an early morning swim.

Room Tip: rooms on the north west side have a btter view of the whole of Acapulco.

For me and my wife's first trip to Acapulco we chose the Grand Hotel as part of the package. We had intended to upgrade the room to one of the renovated room on the upper floors, but changed our mind after being in our room for less than an hour. We had a corner room on the fifth floor with a great view of the bay as well as the Costera on the other corner. At night we would watch the Costera and all it's bright lights and busses and taxis whizzing about, but we also loved to watch the sunset on the bay in the evening from the other balcony. House keeping was wonderful to us, although, I did my best to ensure that by leaving a $20 on the bed with a little note (on our first day). We came up from the pool a couple days later to interupt the maid so we could get our camera, and she was smiling and joking with us and started singing Feliz Navidad for us. We got the internet add-on which was sort of expensive at $15 per day, and not a great bandwidth, but it worked well enough. They have a wonderful breakfast buffet in the mornings which we ate at without fail. (For evening meals, we made it a point to try a different mexican restaurant each night). If I had it to do all over again the only thing I would change is add more time. Leaving the hotel was hard to do, and the elevator man shook my hand and gave me a hug and called me his friend.
