“Sweet Stay At Las Palmas Dolphin Cove”

This was our first trip to Huatulco and Las Palmas, but we really did fall in love with the area and especially Las Palmas From the time we walked down the stairs and seen that breathtaking view from the living room looking out over the infinity pool at violin bay and the open ocean with the cliffs as a backdrop we couldn't get enough of the place until the day we left. This property has to be the best we have ever stayed WRT accommodations. The King suites were awesome with those sliding pocket windows that opened up a gigantic view of the ocean from your room. We stayed in the Master suite and the rooms were all we could have hoped for. The A/C worked great at night to cool down just a little or leave the doors open and let the breeze blow through. Double sinks with a beautifully done tile shower with a large shower bench and a great half moon window to look out at those fantastic views when having a shower. Even though the suites, living area, kitchen and overall layout were fantastic, the hands down winner for us was the amazing infinity pool which we just couldn't get enough of. Just laying in floaties or standing on the edge of it overlooking violin bay from a 200ft elevation was spectacular. Another amazing detail was how the buildings were architecturally designed so that you barley had to move your loungers to have full sun as it kept the same line as it came directly over you and set directly over the living room and pool giving fantastic sunsets while we lounged around watching it go down. All the staff and Ron the owner were really great. Talina and Eric took care of all our needs from a Concierge perspective while we had Nikko cook for us on several occasions during our 2 week stay. We actually mixed it up quite a bit with going out for dinner and cooking steaks etc. ourselves a couple nights. Our favorite restaurants were the Crystal Rose and La Cremma pizzeria in town. We did a great tour on day and rented a 42ft boat where we fished for about 3hrs catching blue and yellow fin tuna along with bonitos. We kept 3 of the tuna and then cruised all the bays on our way down to San Augustine where we moored and went to one of the local establishments there and they cooked up a fantastic feast of the tuna prepared in 3 different ways with sides of rice, beans and of course margaritas  The 7 of us ate till we were stuffed and couldn’t come close to finishing half of it so we gave away the remainder to the staff at Las Palmas. I snorkeled back out to the boat in S.A. bay while the rest were transported back to our boat. The snorkeling was very, very good even though I was a little rushed getting back to the boat so the others weren’t waiting too long. We charted this boat on our own and had it for the entire day for $8000 pesos or $650US. We thought that was a great price and we could have fit 10 people on it easy with us being spread out fishing, on the bow sun tanning and enjoying marine life as well as 3 of us up on the captains perch seeing all the views. The marine life was awesome as there were dolphins jumping out of the water while swimming with the boat directly in front of the girls who were standing at the bow of the boat watching them. All in all a wonderful vacation and we will be back. We also rented jet skis, toured the coffee plantation and waterfalls walked down to La Entrega beach a couple times and enjoyed the fantastic weather with highs of around 32 to 34C and lows of probably around 23 to 25C, just wonderful temperatures. I could go on for a while about all the other cool things we did, but needless to say we will be back with friends in the future and won’t hesitate to make Las Palmas our home once again. So many pic's so little space here :) If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask.
