Are you looking for an inexpensive hotel within walking distance to Old Town Mazatlan, and the Olas Altes beach across the street from the entrance then book LaSiesta Hotel. Our stay for two nights adequately served our needs. If you are expecting Ritz Carlton type rooms, then go elsewhere. Our room had two double beds, and a bathroom. The air conditioning unit leaked a bit. There is a small pool and the Shrimp Bucket restaurant has an entrance from the courtyard. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.

i stayed here for a week. i didn't have any problems with noise from neighbors, the walls are nice and thick unlike american hotels. the hotel is very clean and well maintained, yes it's an older hotel but didn't feel dingy, very charming and not cookie cutter like the tall hotel down the street.the shower pressure was adequate and the air conditioner worked well, although a bit noisy. i just let it run while out to dinner and turned it off while sleeping. not sure if that would work during the summer. and i got a great nites sleep everynite. very comfortable beds and pillows (my bugaboo).they say they have room service but the one morning i tried, i got put on hold forever and it was just easier to go the restaurant right next door myself, they are very busy so i understand, and not really set up for room service. also, they have a water bubbler in the hallway and they provide you with pitchers in the room, and although i used it throughout my stay and the water tasted fine, i my last day i noticed that the water bottle didn't look new so maybe they refill from somewhere. that kinda freaked me out but i didn't get sick so there's that. the wifi was pretty spotty, i couldn't get on the balcony and in the room only if i had the door open (they have a second wooden door that locks for ventilation so it felt safe) the people at the front desk all speak english and are more than happy to help you with anything you may need. special thanks to Ruth who was so friendly every morning. there's not much choice in the old part of town as far as hotels and i wanted to see the ocean as much as i could, so between this hotel and the tall one i'd definitely pick this one again.

Room Tip: go for the seaview room

We stayed here two nights, mainly because we'd been traveling and hadn't accessed wifi to choose any other option. The good...balcony overlooking the Malecon, good A/C, clean room, helpful staff, hot water and small pool, and easy access to Old Town buildings. The not so good....noisy with kids running around till 11:30pm, spotty wifi. The building has been there since 60's, so it's a bit iconic and tired looking, but it's good value.

Great location, across the street from Olas Altes beach andw very close to Plaza Machado and Centro Historico. Rooms were definitely clean (although tired looking). Staff friendly. Main issue is that on the weekend, Olas Altes is a noisy nightime party zone. Even the hotel was noisy (all rooms open onto a central courtyard, which either had noisy families (who were having a great time!) or parties with a band). Actually, a fun place to stay, but be prepared for noise.

Spent a couple of nights here while visiting for the first time. It's a good value. Clean, neat, good sized rooms, balcony overlooking the malecon & ocean, lovely courtyard & pool. The only difficulty was the spotty Internet.
