Beautiful old Mexican style architecture. The views are spectacular!! Sunsets are fantastic. Personnel very friendly and accommodating. Loved this hotel. We have been going to Vallarta for many years, and Hotel La Siesta is one of the first hotels that was built. We recommend it to visitors who love the romantic Mexican style and culture.

Room Tip: Request ocean front rooms. Spectacular views!!

If you just want to look out your "balcony" windows and enjoy the beautiful view (and nightly fireworks), then this hotel is perfect for you. But our second-floor "suite" had lighting that verged on decrepit, a stove that wouldn't light until a man came in and turned up a gas valve and then lite it with matches (from then on the kitchen smelled like gas....for days!), a small double bed that had to be moved away from a wall to get in (but when the bed was moved, the only closet couldn't be opened!), creaky doors and what wasn't really a balcony but was called a balcony! All it really was was sliding glass doors that opened on a window box with one plant in it. The "balcony" was one foot wide! Add to this that the front desk staff spoke very little English, the swimming pool was VERY cold, and the upshot is that I can't really recommend Hotel Suites la Siesta. Yes, the view is lovely, but you still need a few amenities. don't you?

The hotel is a wonderful old hotel with very friendly staff. They speak very little english - but with the help of your cab driver - things happen. We went for the storms - so the view is spectacular of the bay from any room. Yes - its a older hotel (no a/c) but we went for the taste of the real city - not from a all inclusive pestering hotel. The el panorama restaurant on the top floor is a real dinning experience. The hotel is "up the hill" - so we suggest walking down to the malicon - shop - eat - drink have fun - but when its time to come back - get a cab for 50 pesos you are back at the hotel. Get awya from those large hotels and stay in a nice mom & pop place that will give you the best service.

Room Tip: tip the maids a buck to two every day - and you get fresh cut flowers in your room in return..... its all in the details.

Warm and friendly staff. Very clean older Mexican style hotel with the best view in town. Steep hill we walked down easily and just took taxis back. Spanish speaking only but communicated easily with phone translator. Very comfortable firm bed and nicely furnished kitchen. Great restaurants within walking distance and Panorama Restaurant romantic with good food.

This is not a fancy hotel but I really enjoyed my stay here. It does the basics and the views are beautiful. Be advised that this hotel is located on a hill so if you are not fit or have some health issues you might not like walking up and down the area. However all the tourist attractions are within walking distance including many restaurants and shops. The staff is friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Wifi on floor 6 is weak
