I was so happy to find this spot! First I checked out the coolers which had vegan cheese, coconut butter, homemade seitan & other staples along with to go items like mushroom posole soup, Indian curry, & some other items. They also sold nutritional yeast & other healthy food stuff.
The owner talked to me & told me everything I wanted to know about the menu, what everything was made of, & how they did it. She said usually they have house made tempeh for sale too. I ordered four tacos two seitan al pastor & two soya asado. The al pastor was one of the best vegan versions that I've had & I've had a lot! She brought a creamy avocado cilantro salsa out & other fixens as well. Everything was super fresh & perfectly done. The tortillas were better than the ones I make at home.
I asked what I should get to bring home & she went through the whole menu. Everything is made in house except the bread. They have three different kinds of veggie burgers (one featuring oats another featuring cauliflower), at least four kinds of tacos though if you like you can have the fillings in sopes or other styles, veggie balls which are really different versions of falafel, a huge burrito, some Indian style foods like curry steamed buns, & sandwiches. I decided to take the milenesa home for later & she wrapped up the patty for me & gave me great instructions for how to make it at home (slice the bread in half and fry it in a bit of coconut butter & then do the milenesa 3 minutes each side). It was so great! Definitely my best eating & service experience in Puerto Vallarta! I just wish it was a big fancy restaurant on the beach instead of a tiny but very bright & clean little lunch counter spot. Hopefully they will expand because everything was top notch & I want everyone to get to try it!
