Definitely overpriced. Structure is nice and this what the hotel relies on; for the rest any kind of service is missing; staff unkind (first thing they ask you is to settle the bill) and unhelpful, as only the owner can make decisions over the phone, including as to whether your request to change room since there is not hot water can be met though the hotel is actually empty. Breakfast is included but is very poor unless you pay an extra price à ma carte. Wifi in the rooms is announced, but there is actually no wifi or close to zero, so if you are on a business trip and need to stay connected just go elsewhere. Only advantage , there is parking for free which is rare in Guanajuato's center.

In the center of Guanajuato you will find this nice hotel with a splendid view of this
magnificent old cultural city. The building is nicely reconstructed, the rooms big and
always clean. The stuff is really very attentive and helpful. The bed is harder the
normal but I slept well possibly by the walking down and up to the hills of the city.
The breakfast which includes is continental but with a few pesos more you can upgrade it
to an excellent one. Don't take a room to the street side, if you will sleep early there is a
bar in front oft the hotel with loud music until 2 am.

Room tip: Don´t take room to the street, if you want sleep.

2 adults, one 8-year-old, three nights. We were in Los Cardinales which is a suite with futon/TV in first room and a really spacious room with attached bath in second room. One balcony overlooking the Mercado.

This hotel is in a great location (as long as you can walk up/down hill a few hundred meters). It has parking (we did not use). East walk to any of the key GTO sites. With that said, it's in the central part of town which meant troubadours, barking dogs, traffic noise etc.

The room is upscale Mexican tile and super clean. The beds were harder than normal but we slept well. Pillows good. As other reviews have mentioned, you do need to call front desk to ask them to send up hot water, but this was fun and even our 8-year-old mastered calling for "aqua caliente, por favor" before her bath.

The staff was very nice. The continental breakfast of fruit, juice, pastries and coffee with acceptable. For 50 pesos more you can order eggs that were quite good. Restaurant staff speaks limited English.

We have property in GTO and are in the process of renovation, so we arrived with a truck full of materials and needed secure parking. Antiguo Vapor is centrally located and is the only place I found with truly secure parking, every other place that offers parking will valet park you in the public garage.
Rooms in the back are quieter. We had Tortola with a nice balcony view for 1300p/night. They offer a good discount for cash. Forget the continental breakfast and go to Cafe Tal over in the Embajadora neighborhood.

Room tip: Rooms in the back are quieter, off of the street side.

We stay here more visits to the GTO capital city. This place is a bit pricey but when you consider that parking is included I feel it is worth it. Nice city views and great breakfast. Rooms are super clean and the staff is helpful and most speak English. Cash only gets you a discount.
